| im not sure if he was already voted on or not but he should be in there nonetheless.
one of the best runs at lightweight defending his title against elorde (2-0), laguna (2-1), ramos (2-0), and locche (draw). also beat the mysterious duilio loi one out of three times which was at the light welterweight limit. his only losses during his prime years were against loi and laguna which he had also defeated both of them. 10 defenses of his lightweight title with only losing one time during his reign.
if ortiz doesnt make the list then i dont know what we are looking for. | |

| yeah I tend to agree. Ten defenses in USA, Japan, Phillipines, Puerto Rico, Argentina. The guy was a true world champion. 20 wins over ranked guys.
I vote Yea! | |

| nope..nope..then reduce our selectivity and allow everyone in..there are times i disagree with burt sugar but he ranks ortiz the 87 th best fighter on his list of100..soo folks lets vote in the other 86 ahead of ortiz in out immortal list...pasqual perez is above him kid chocolate zarate etc etc..we made a excellent list that id put up against any group of boxing historians..we have maybe 3 boarderline guys..selectivity was the key and we did a great job..vote ortiz in and you absolutely make a mockery out of our selection..then why vote..just go to burt sugars top 100 fighters and vote them all in..realy..powerpuncher said hed take out half the guys we voted in .they dont belong..yet ortiz does..come on..want to second guess a brillent selection outside jofre..goo ahead..hey w left of sanchez lamotta cerdan and many others..let them all in..then we become like the wbc wba etc etc a joke..we did a great intelligent very selective job..powepuncher says we are wrong on at least half our choices..why were a bunch of idiots..how dare we leave oscar off abe attell geez lets vote in every great fighter...give me a break..please..lets just put in burt sugars top 100 and add 25 othe fightewrs that could of should of or were close to making burts list..then ill say yes to ortiz but not before kid chocolate abe attell harry wills zarate perez and others get voted in first..second guess yourself to death.selectivity flush down the toliet.. | |

| i wrote this in the other thread but i will say it again. if we took off half of the fighters on our list, then i wouldnt include ortiz. im only including ortiz because it seems like he fits the list we have. if we truly made it the immortals, then i wouldnt include ortiz but i also wouldnt include other fighters on the list either. | |
