folks can say what they want but letterman is arguably the best judge ive seen after watching boxing close to some 60 years.if not hes in the top 2..hes a great guy too who loves boxing and talking about if..harold and i corresponded for a little over a year via emails..it started when 4 or 5 different times harold bought boxing memoribilla from me when i did ebay ..the past 4 years or so we lost touch.he loved talking about the old st nicks arena attending fights there as a kid and watch fighters develope into top fighters..that era was special and the last decade or so of the golden era of boxing....when watching a fight and when i heared harolds one of the judges and art mercante sr was the ref i use to think it dont get any better then that..noo ones gonna get robbed tonight..
i watched the last 3 rounds of the alexander fight after work last night..my impressions were similar to max in one regauard..top fighters at 140 would be far more willing to take him on after that tough fight..i cant stand his grunting and alexander has talent but needs tons of work...with 21 fights under his belt hes at the top of the division of excellent fighters but yet in my eyes is not a seasoned fighter..from reports glen johnson lost the fight but made it very very competitive...come on now he gets 60 000 and guys like berto wont touch a fight under 750 000..somethings wrong there..the highest compliment you can pay a fighter is hes old school..that tells you what the eras of the past were realy like..johnsons old school for sure in every way..
hopefully we have seen the end of corey spinks.
i think this time around floyd and king will get together..the get together will last for a good 3 fights..dont be suprized if king doent throw in a wrentch at the bradley-alexander fight and come up with a floyd-alexander fight..after last night im sure floyd would love that against a smaller still green behind the ears fighter with a big reputation..i can see king selling it as the second dempsey tunney fight first ali-frazier and the third zale-graziano all rolled up into one..two unbeatons that he will promote as is it the changing of the guard...with king and arums talking of late we just may see boxing heat up with some interesting fights.
you can hate them both but there two crafty salesman..experts at building up a fight..lets see what developes.

I find Lederman immensely entertaining and always an addition to a broadcast. From time to time he points out things I am missing while watching, which I like. The voice and the way he ends his rants by shouting "JIM" makes me chuckle. As a judge I think he's competent but when he has an off night, he REALLY has an off night.

Of course he's ringside and I'm watching on TV, so who is really having the off night?

As for King and Floyd, if Stan can get Floyd in the ring? Goooooo Satan!

Lastly Alexander is a fine athlete and a decent boxer, but he hasn't the foggiest idea what he's doing in there and his corner was a joke last night.

Lederman was way off last night in the Alexander fight IMO.

My favorite line from last night was Alexander's cornerman. "Yu Letten Him Pull U N Sum Bullshit."

see the thing with lederman for me is, as bad as his scorecards sometimes appear to be, he almost always has the same winner as the 3 scoring judges, making me think that as he is a trained judge, that he is seeing something im not. Maybe he is right, what do i know, thats his job and he usually gets the right guy. Even in what most outsiders see as robberies, lederman picks the same winner as the judges the majority of the time.

I didn't score the Alexander fight round by round, so I can't take too much issue with the 9-3 scorecard for Alexander. Alot of people who did score the fight had it much closer (some even having Kotelnik winning).

I finally got a chance late last night to go back and watch the fight while scoring it. I scored it 8-4 for Kotelnik.
