| 2 questions.
1. Has GSP done enough yet to overtake Matt Hughes as the greatest ever Welterweight or is Hughes still the greatest ever? 2. GSP vs Matt Hughes- If they fought at their peak who'd win? |

| A prime GSP beats a prime HUghes, but Hughes probably has a slightly better record as of now. Hughes had a ridiculous win streak that included the best the WW division had to offer for its time. GSP is close though. Beating Koscheck, and the winner of Kampmann/Shields may put him over the top. | |

| Hughes owns a head to head victory over GSP during his run, has more title wins, despite being less well rounded than GSP, unlike GSP he has finished most of his title fights and has no "Serra" moments. He does have a 1-1 record with Penn but he won the rematch with would probably be more important.
GSP is sitting at seven title fight wins right now, Hughes has 9. None of Hughes wins were for "interm" titles, where GSP has an interm title win in his count(however it is an interm win over Hughes. GSP has two head to head wins over Hughes.
It's starting to get tricky. GSP wins two or three more bouts and he wrests the thrown away.

| If we count their fights as a three game series, GSP is a game up on Hughes. | |

| Right now Matt Hughes has the title but GSP has plenty time on his hands to snatch it away. |

| Hughes in his prime looks completely different than this one. This Hughes has lost most of his snap and enthusiasm for the sport. When it mattered more to him it showed. | |

I agree, he looks to comfortable before a fight, like it's another day at the office, complacent.
