BEST RESUME BY NUMBER OF FIGHTS Empty

You guys KNOW I love slicing and dicing boxing history so here's a weird one. Starting with one fight and then going as long as I don't get bored are suggestions for the most prestigous single wins, two wins, three wins and so on in the sport's history.

Single Win-While Joe Frazier over Ali and Jake LaMotta over Ray Robinson deserve a mention, both of those had mitigating circumstances. My pick is Max Schmeling KOing the unbeaten, prime, and seemingly unbeatable Joe Louis.

A Big Pair-Muhammad Ali over Liston and Foreman deserve a mention as do Leonard over Duran and Hearns and Sam Langford defeating Joe Gans and Stanley Ketchell. But my pick is Harry Greb handing Gene Tunney his only defeat (and kicking the crap out of him in the process) and beating Mickey Walker. Oh yeah he only had one eye for both fights.

The Triple Crown-Three wins and boxing can only belong to one thing. Lou Ambers at 135, Barney Ross at 147 and Petey Sarron at 126. Ladies and gentlemen, Henry Armstrong.

The Impregnable Quadrilateral
-Try as I might I simply can't think of a more impressive group than Benitez, Duran, Hearns and Hagler. Sugar Ray Leonard.

Five Golden Rings-Ezzard Charles going 5-0 against Archie Moore and Charley Burley is incredible, but it is only two fighters. Sam Langford beat top three lightweight Joe Gans, top ten middle Stanley Ketchell, HOF light heavy Philadelphia Jack O'Brien, heavyweight Harry Wills and he got a draw with top ten welter Joe Walcott. But I think the pick here is Muhammad Ali. Liston, Frazier, Foreman, Patterson and Moore.

Six Flags-How about lightweight Carlos Ortiz? Old Bones Joe Brown, Duilio Loi, Ismael Laguna, Flash Elorde, Kenny Lane and Sugar Ramos.

Seven Deadly Sins-How about beating Benny Leonard (admittedly well past his best), Tony Canzoneri, Barney Ross, Young Corbett III, Bud Taylor, Pancho Villa and Fidel LaBarba. Champions and HOFers all. The Baby Faced Assasin, Jimmy McLarnin.

Eight Men Out
-Sammy Angott, Fritzie Zivic, Jake Lamotta, Kid Gavilan, Carmen Basilio, Gene Fulmer, Henry Armstrong and Bobo Olson. Any guesses?

Ten Little Indians-Ike Williams 1948 10-0 campaign. 2 HOFers and a total of six ranked guys.

Two Bits-Joe Louis' 25 title defenses while fighting EVERYONE!

I was bored.
