- "Sambo is great. Jiu-jitsu is nothing special. We went over several jiu-jitsu guys like that before. I lost because of what happened. My loss was caused by my personal mistake in the cageā¦ I lost my head. Wanted to finish it all as soon as possible. As far as the rumors about my last fight being set up... I was asked about it many times already. I will never go against my conscience and never betray my country like that. Money doesn't matter that much to me that I could lie to people. Since I lost to Werdum, it was meant to be. And I'm thankful to God it happened that way."

| every guy is gonna stand behind their martial art before giving credit to any other. Nothing new here. At least he knows why he lost and is taking responsibility for it. | |

No he does come across arrogant with his disregard for Jiu-Jitsu. |

No he does come across arrogant with his disregard for Jiu-Jitsu. I disagree, it sounds like he is tired of answer the same questions over and over. I think just about everyone would agree that Fedor lost because of his own mistake. | |

| I wonder if by "jiu jitsu is nothing special," he actually meant that Werdum's bjj is nothing special and it was just a translation issue. I say that because he goes on to say that he was over aggressive for the finish and made a mistake. Clearly, he knows bjj is effective and has used it himself many many times. | |

| Regardless of whether this was a slip of the tongue, misstranlsation, or the real deal we all acknowledge he fucked up. Sambo better than BJJ? I think of them as equitable, not one better than the other. | |

| I think fedor is tired of people thinking he was un human cause to himself he is as human as they come. He is real humble I think he is just over it and ready to move on. | |

| If Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is nothing special he should have been able to get out of dodge after the first failed armbar. Instead he stuck around and got himself tapped by "nothing special". Would it kill him to give some credit to the fact that Werdum's high level Jiu Jitsu is the thing that allowed him to take advantage of Fedors mistake? It's not like just any Black Belt in the world could have done that to Fedor. | |
