| The numbers really bare out how one sided that first round really was. http://fightmetric.com/fights/Lesnar-Carwin.htmlJust like the Fedor fight, literally the only successful techniques that garnered significant score in the entire bout was the submission. Telling stat ; in the first round Lesnar went 0-3 on takedown attempts. | |

| Yeah Carwin kicked Brocks ass in the first round, one sided. But not being able to finish it early was what led to brock winning in the second. | |

| The comeback and duribility factor were impressive, but overall that was a terrible performance from Lesnar. The worst of his career and the best of his career simultaniously. Strange fight. You've only seen fight metric statlines similar to that in bouts along the lines of Scott Smith vs Cung Le 1, Manhoef vs Lawler, Duffee vs Russow, and Fedor vs Werdum. | |

| Lesnar had the takedown at the end of round one but the bell rang. Pretty impressive he didn't need at minute to recover. | |

| They sat against the cage for almost a minute. Actually thank goodness Brock had cardio though, because if his was similar to Carwins or most guys that size, the next four rounds could have shown PPV buyers the meaning of pain. | |

| Ya exactly. Brock doesn't get enough credit for his cardio. His wrestling ability is one of the great myths of MMA all time, akin to the idea the dinosaurs went and are extinct or the world is flat, but his cardio for a man his size is completely overlooked. No one that big can last that long. The major hole in the whole "new era of HW's" idea is the reality that big men don't have great cardio for very long. Lesnar's however is very special.
Problem is, cardio is relative, and Cain is a cardio machine. I still see an advantage for Cain in the cardio department. Cain won't be easy to takedown and will threaten with takedown attempts of his own, so we might finally see Lesnar truly winded and against someone who isn't for the first time. Lesnar was pretty tired after the first round, but relative to Carwin who would have been taken down by Rashad Evans at that stage he looked very fresh. I don't know if he would have looked so fresh against Cain. | |
