"We are open to fighting other fighters in other leagues. Doing co-promotions and fighting other fighters from other leagues is never going to be an issue. It just a matter of how do we do it? What's the deal? We'll sit down and give it a shot. I would love to see that fight between Eddie and Gilbert. It comes down to details, like, after the fight's over, who owns the intellectual property rights? Is it them? Is it us? Do we co-share it? There's a tremendous amount of points to be negotiated. And then is it on our broadcast platform? Is it on their broadcast platform? What rights are we going to retain? What rights are they going to retain? What if he wins the title? Is there an automatic rematch clause? It just goes on and on and on. But you know what? We got it done with the Fedor piece, and so I feel like we can do it with anybody." - Quote :

| He should get it done, it's a great fight and great fight for both Orgs, they should work together more often.
I got Eddie in this | |

| They should bring Hector along as well. He can fight whoever is holding the SF MW belt. | |

| I have Gilbert Melendez as the #1 lightweight in the world right now according to my last rankings. I think Eddie would have been a more significant favorite a year or so ago. Gilbert has really come on strong, BJ looked ineffective last go round and I firmly believe Gilbert would defeat Frankie Edgar. I don't expect anyone to agree with me though and nor do I care to debate it really either.
Strikeforce doesn't need to do this fight right now though honestly. They just signed KJ Noons and JZ Calvancante, and a rubber match with Josh Thompkins looms large too. That is all house money, with no split.

| I have Gilbert losing multiple fights in the UFC LW division
He beat Thomson off a long ass layoff and a guy begging to be exposed.
He's a top 10, but this is why I'm soo in favor of a unified Org

| Gilbert probably would lose several UFC fights. So would Eddie, and Frankie, and Gray. All to eachother. | |

| Ok, as long as we're on a similar wavelength, I think Eddie would fair better than Gil though.
I think Frankie would take Gil 8 of 10 times also, better boxing, quicker, better wrestling.

| Frankie Edgar is waiting to be exposed. His size is the biggest issue, not his skill.
2012 Jose Aldo is a LW and Edgar is a FW.

| Gil would hold his own. He's not too small to be a lw. Being the biggest isn't everything in that division. | |

| I'd have him losing to BJ, Frankie, KenFlo, Gray, and a bunch of other close fights
Though I'd pick Frankie in a rematch and he had distractions around the fight, Gray beat Frankie because of size.

| BJ was sick and didn't go for a takedown once. I don't know that the fight was an accurate representation of what both fighters really have. | |

| Melendez vs. Alvarez would be a classic in my eyes. Unfortunately, i actually don't think SF really wants to put that fight together unless they can ensure that Eddie will have more fights with Strikeforce should he win. I also would pick Alverez in the fight, but i think it would go the distance and be a true battle. | |

| what its going to come down to is what happens with the belts, do both fighters keep their belts, what happens when 1 orgs champ loses, does Milendez fight the Bellator tourney winner? | |

| With Melendez and Aoko they both kept their belts but it was still a 5 round fight. Couldn't they do the same thing here? | |
