Melvin Guillard wanted it, and he got it.

The UFC lightweight will tangle with Jeremy Stephens on UFC 119's main
card, according to sources close to the event who told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that
the fighters are expected to sign bout agreements shortly.

Guillard (24-8 MMA, 7-4 UFC) perked up ears when he called out Stephens
(17-5 MMA, 5-4 UFC) following his first-round TKO of Waylon Lowe – his
second UFC win earned with a body-shot – at UFC 114.

Should be an exciting fight.

Jeremy Stevenson does exist actually, he's been cloned from Jeremy Stephens and Joe Stevenson, really good fighter, to high caliber for Melvin at this point, so he'll just go with Stephens.

This will be a slugfest war, but I think Melvin is a bit too explosive for Jeremy.

He wouldn't call out Joe Daddy, they train together in New Mexico. But this fight with Stephens is without a doubt the best news I've heard all day. WAR LITTLE SLUGGERS!

Melvin called out Stephens...shooting for the stars i see.

I don't know why he called him out specifically other than he knows they'd make an absolutely fantastic match up. Maybe there is some bad blood. Also Melvin knows he isn't title shot ready yet. I like that he actually named an opponent he'd like to fight besides a generic "I want a title shot yesterday" speech.

“The UFC originally came to me and asked me if I was ready to fight and I had a slight little injury and I had some healing to do and I wasn’t able to take a fight (when they first offered a different opponent) and we moved on.[But since then] I’ve been in the gym, I started getting back in there, I was hitting pads all week, doing jiu jitsu and I felt great and he decided to call me out and I actually couldn’t have been happier. Me and my manager were texting each other like ‘Yea we’ll take that fight.’ and we hit up Joe Silva and we asked him ‘What’s up with Melvin, is he ready to go are we ready to do this or what?’ and he said ‘Let’s do it’ and I couldn’t be more happier. It’s going to be in a great location, here in the Midwest so it’s going to be a big family event for me and its going to be a real exciting show and I can’t wait to go out there just prove the world wrong once again.”

If there isn't a KO or TKO in this fight it will be extremely disapointing. Unless we see some Korean Zombie-Garcia type action.
