| Chuck is better than Wand, plain and simple. Im tired of people trying to say other wise like they know it for a fact. Chuck is just better than Wand and im a huge Wand fan. | |

| Chuck hasn't been better than Wandy since Dec 31 2007. Wanderlei has won or been close in fights with good to great competition while Liddell has been flatlined twice.
Are you talking right now or career wise?

I agree, Wand has been on the wrong end of a KO punch too.

| I donno, I think Wanderlei with his new training and fixed sinuses would flatten Liddell 50 seconds in. | |

Shit man I'd love for them to run it back. That first fight was fuckin awesome. I was just watching unleashed and it said in the info that it was gonna show the wandy vs. liddell fight but I guess it was wrong. Fucking AT&T.

- Chuck has been KO'd badly by Rampage, Evans and Shogun. All of those fighters are knockout punchers. Evans may not seem to be at first, but Evans has solid speed and power. His GnP knocked Forrest lifeless and he sent Rampage flying across the cage. Maybe Chuck has a glass chin now or maybe his situation is like Wanderlei Silva's, where he only gets hurt and rocked badly by the most powerful strikers in the game.
Very good point Wolf. Chuck has been KOed by pretty hard punchers but with the devastation of how he was KOed in those fights it just certainly looks like Chucks chin cant hold up anymore. How come AA is never given this level of credit when he's KO'd by hard punchers?

| I have Chuck over Wand all time. Beating Randy and Tito was HUGE [plus his win over Vitor is looking more and more impressive].
Other than Rampage [who, in their first meeting, was coming off a war with Chuck earlier that night, while Wand just finished a fight with yet another Japanese Judoka] and Silva's fights at HW, I kind of feel like he was hand-fed opponents. When he wasn't [Ricardo Arona and Dan Henderson] he looked human. Great winning streak, but no way he pulls off the quality of wins that Chuck did during his prime. Love Wand, but I think Pride liked having him tear apart Japanese

| Chuck lost nearly ever minute of every Pride fight he was in. Two come from behind KO's resulting only from being an epic puncher with an epic chin prevented him from being 0-3 in Pride. Because of this, the UFC made sure to keep him clear of strikers for the majority of his career. Same things that can go against Wandy and Tito can go against Liddell. Food for thought.
Counter argument to this of course is pointing out how Vitor and Tito ran Wanderlei Silva the fuck out of the UFC.
As I've said in other posts, I don't like to start devaluing any of the great LHW resumes out there. Ya Tito had a couple gimmies and avoided Liddell, ya Wanderlei made a career out of KOing Judokas in soaking wet gis, ya Liddell got his ass handed to him by every striker he ever faced causing the UFC to feed him a steady diet of Babalu's. Who cares, what matters to me is the quality wins they all have and the title defenses they all have. All three of them have legendary runs and defenses of their titles. They're all eternal champions in my eyes.

| Both are legends, but if I go based on strength of schedule, then I definitely take Chuck.
I doubt the UFC steered him away from strikers, it's just the organization and its rules put greater significance on grappling, thus the success of Tito and Randy. Chuck excelled because he was a wrestler that didn't want to wrestle. It's just different evolution processes, but all things being equal, Chuck does better with Wanderlei's schedule vs. Wanderlei with Chuck's.
