| I just turned on the radio and heard Rome saying what a fresh interview it was and how he wished he had another 15-20 minutes... Anyone catch it, and was anything said that we haven't heard? | |

| Damn I missed it too. I was listening to Herd instead of Rome today. Hopefully mmamania or someone picks up the clip. | |

| Caught the first couple of minutes. Page is the man, knows how to sell a fight and be entertaining in those kind of interviews.. | |

| You better cling to that then while is still comfortable. That weak wafer thin decision Forrest got off him is what the only loss he has since 2005 or something. Reshad is too soft for Page, did you see his turtle neck and blazer? BWaaaahahhaha. | |

| IMO Rashad is gonna come out with a strict gameplan, use his wrestling and try to win a decision.
Rampage is gonna come out and try and fuck Rashad up, and it's gonna work

| From the Sherdog preview:
"One need only look to Evans' most recent fights for proof that he doesn't seem to have a game plan in mind. He gassed himself out trying to muscle around Thiago Silva, and he played right into Lyoto Machida's hands by stepping inside the pocket with badly telegraphed power punches. Even Evans' win over Forrest Griffin saw him lose the first two rounds before he lucked into top control and rightly capitalized on the opportunity. In those first two rounds, however, Evans was soundly outboxed and relied far too much on landing single power punches.
That won't work against Jackson, who is the far more fundamentally sound boxer and one of the division's best counterpunchers. At least, he is when he bothers to show up for fights -- a fact driven home by his wildly uneven performance against Keith Jardine at UFC 96. Nonetheless, Jackson has the chin to take Evans' punches and is far more accurate with his own strikes.
Still, Evans can win this fight by using his movement to stay outside the pocket and whip leg kicks at Jackson's lead leg. For whatever reason, Jackson refuses to check leg kicks despite the fact he has been ravaged by them several times in the past. Attacking with kicks, though, might require a level of strategic savvy that has long been missing from Evans' game.
What really figures to put this fight beyond Evans' reach, however, is his perplexing insistence on going for takedowns against physically stronger opponents. Not only does this habit drain his gas tank, but it also exposes his weak base, which everyone from Thiago Silva to Michael Bisping has taken advantage of several times over. Jackson certainly has the wrestling to stuff Evans' attempts, especially because Evans tends to shoot from way outside the pocket instead of setting up his level change with strikes.
All in all, there really isn't a clear path to victory for Evans unless Jackson enters this fight with his mind going in a million different directions. Given the stakes and the utter disdain these two have for each other, it's hard to imagine either fighter showing up with anything less than an alpha game. That scenario not only favors Jackson, but practically guarantees Evans will get laid out." | |

| Reading that Sherdog paragraph, Rashad is in for one hell of a night, Rampage didn't hate Silva this much, if Rashad does not wake up on the mat looking at the lights I will be suprised, Rashad has shown his chin is suspect and Rampage is looking to walk right through him with every punch, in boxing there is bad blood, but the gloves are so much bigger, those small gloves, if Rashad tries to stand and bang he is done. | |

| Let me guess, Thomas Rios wrote that? There is some validty to some of that, but it totally neglects the fact that Rashad Evans is 200 times faster than Quinton Jackson. His gameplan against Thiago worked great until he got clocked with a hail mary haymaker, but he still won the fight. As long as Rashad works the lead leg, stays out of fire fights, especially early, and throws more than the overhand right, he shouldn't have a problem with Jackson's one dimensional striking game. Why does a wrestler shoot for takedowns? Did he really ask that? Maybe he should criticize Evans for fighting in a weight class he is much too small for, but to actually say Evans is stupid for trying to use his bread and butter against larger opponents is a fucking joke. What's next, asking Keith Jardine why he throws punches against faster opponents? | |
