| Frank's a peach...
Describing Fedor as a fighter - "I think right now, hands down he's (Fedor) the best... You're talking about a guy who's fought literally everybody in the world and beaten them at every single style... I was the closest guy to that ten years ago, this guy's at a whole new level" - There was much more on this topic about Fedor being unassuming, big blue eyes, tight ass, still living in a shack in a small town in Russia, etc. A lot of slobbering here...
Talking the UFC and Fedor - "They have an impressive workplace. They're a very big company that does business the old way, that is they have to control and own everything about you. We're in a volatile and young sport where the lifespans are very short for these guys. In Fedor's position for him to give over all of his merchandise rights and everything he's built up to compete in the UFC doesn't make sense, for a brand for an opportunity it doesn't make sense. It makes sense for the UFC, but no sense for Fedor."
Rome: In order to be the best, do you have to beat the best... And in order to do that do you need to be with the UFC? - "The best fighters right now are international. They are not in the UFC, they are coming to CBS and they are coming to Showtime. We have the relationships through Strikeforce, every promotion in the business. You've seen the Strikeforce cards from one year ago to one year to date, these are four of the best fighters in the world fighting on Saturday night. With the greatest fighter headlining it. That talent pool is enormous, we're going to blow the UFC out of the water.
On Lesnar and Fedor, "I don't think he's (Brock) in his (Fedor) class on a technical side. But from a physical standpoint, he's just lightyears ahead of him athletically. In a fight, I don't see Lesnar having an understanding of the stand-up game to really hang in there with Fedor. And if they go to the ground, Fedor's a fantastic submission expert. I see Lesnar being a very defensive fighter, tough to win when you're defending against everything. Eventually the fight will happen. The big business model's going to change and television's going to drive these products and drive these fans. You know when ten million television people say I want to see Fedor fight whoever, you're going to see it. That's where the sport and money meet up and we all move on."
He rambled about mainstream, his necklace, his own title hopes (LOL) and his childhood dreams.

| I agree with him somewhat on the international scene. Strikeforce having such good working relationships with international promotions like DREAM, Sengoku and M-1..they will continue to be able to bring in great fighters and top prospect to where they will have a good portion of the best fighters in the world in the future.
Other than that, Frank is just being a company guy. He said Brett Rogers was the #2 HW in the world. UFC has their ass kissers(Shane Carwin) but Frank bleeds Strikeforce.

I got a laugh when he said his game ten years ago was the closest to Fedor. Being a company guy or not, you can't completely dicount the UFC. Yes, there's talent abroad. But in every weight class about half of the top-20's reside in the UFC. Strikeforce has a roster of 50 and about 15 of those are legitmate and known to most MMA fans. Tha casual MMA fan might know 5. And I'd like to know who these 4 guys are on tomorrows card are that are the best in the world. Did I miss somewhere that Anderson, GSP and Machida are fighting on that card? As far as blowing the UFC out of the water... I know this is company speak, but SF needs to be concerned about just staying alive right now. They don't have the backing that Affliction had, and they disappeared in a hurry. SF could be a major player for a long time if they do it right... But we've said that about quite a few now defunct orgs. All said... Frank is Frank and I just get a kick out of listening to him him, haw and slur his way through interviews. He's great for the sport.

| Great interview I caught the last part of it and I pretty much agree with what he has to say and Im not sure about blowing the UFC out of the water but they are definitely starting to get the UFC's attention. | |
