| posted the same after the Berto fight, the dirrell fight in detroit was at best half filled. The fights in Europe fill up well, the really big fights here do well, but man a title fight with one of the best boxers in the world just drew nobody to the arena. And they booed most of the fight, and then it ended the lousy way it did. Bad night 4 boxing.
It has to burn Merchant to call a title fight in front of an empty arena while the UFC fills 2 arena's a month.

| Kermit Cintron vs Paul Williams wasn't a title fight.
Paul Williams isn't promoted right, he's got no fanbase on the west coast. Andre Dirrell has just arrived on the scene, his fanbase will increase with each fight.
Love how you left out Andre Ward selling out his venues in Oakland. |

Love how you left out Andre Ward selling out his venues in Oakland. Isn't promoted right? One would think being one of the best boxers in the world, and not to mention one of the more entertaining ones, would earn him fans no matter who the promoter is. That place was EMPTY. As was the Berto fight. EMPTY. Ward at this point is more of an exception. But kudos to him and his fans,(though I wonder how well he'd do away from Oakland). I know you're a boxing fan Ali, but don't get your panties in a bunch because I said something that is absolutely true. And Bird, did you read the part about "the really big fights still do well". Boxing get's 2 or 3 of em a year.

| Dan Goosen is doing a terrible job with Paul Williams, he's got him fighting in Cali when he's from Georgia.
Instead of actually taking time to build Paul a fanbase, Dan just chases paydays which won't happen. He wasted time creating the most feared man in boxing hype and allowed Paul to jump all over weight classes, when he should have been working Paul up the sanctioning bodies rankings to get him a mandatory shot at big name title holders.
The Berto vs Quintana turnout was ashame, because the profits went towards the Haiti relief effort.
UFC has an advantage because it's a brand name that sells, people know they are going to see multiple fights. It's different when you're trying to sell a couple names. Do you think Coleman vs Couture on it's on sells out a venue ? |

| Paul Williams and Andre Berto's problems are all due to Al Haymon.
He's telling both of them they're worth more than they really are and they're paying the price.
