This is sad, GSP was early the favorite coming into the fight, no mention of weather he was Champ or not. AA was clearly the favorite coming into the fight. Step one comparison the same. Serra was clearly a huge dog coming into the fight. Rogers was clearly a huge dog coming into the fight. Step two comparison the same. Sera came out and quickly finsihed GSP via KO, no one saw it coming. Rogers came out quickly and finsihed AA, no one saw it coming. Step 3 comparison the same. What does the results of the rematch have to do with anything here? they don't, the better fighter was upset in similar fashion. Also there was no if's

He was removed from his A game by being put to sleep by Fedor. When a guy with a questionable chin get's knocked cold, and then starts crying in the post fight u can be sure he is off his A game. Put him in the cage his very next fight with a huge dude with big power, and if you don't see a KO coming then u need to watch more fights. Plenty of us called that fight b4 hand.

also the serra gsp comparison is flawed 4 a couple reasons.

1)as bird noted we are able to look at the careers of serra and gsp since that 1st fight, we have seen georgie come back and dominate serra, and everyone else he has fought since that time, we know george is a p4p great, while serra is a good but by no means great fighter. We don't know Rogers might become, but we can be pretty sure that AA will never be considere an all time p4p great.

2)AA has always been noted as having a questionable chin, while gsp was not, and AA was coming off a fight in which he was left face down on the mat unconscious. georgie was coming off a dominant win over Hughes.

3)Rogers one major attribute going into that fight was his KO power. He ko'd (or submitted by strikes) every fighter he had ever fought. While that was the 1st KO of serra's career.

4)Rogers, unlike serra enjoyed a big time size advantage.
