The UFC absorbs twenty Affliction contracts, details to come on Friday

Wow!!!

While I am excited to hear about this, there are some fighters, like Tim Sylvia, I'd rather not see back in the UFC and some of them will probably be making it back.

I'm not so sure this is anything special. The UFC contracts are different than Affliction ones. I doubt the UFC is going to want to pay some of these bums what they were getting (Tim, Lindland, etc). Plus they'll have to completely renegotiate.

Anyway the top guys I want from Affliction goes

1. Fedor
2. Mousasi
3. Nog
4. Belfort
5. Sobral
6. Arlovski

Well Affliction cut AA and Lil Nog only had a 1 fight deal.

Also Gegard, Sobral, and Hieron are out of the picture because they have contracts with Strikeforce.


Look for guys like Fedor, Vitor, Buentello, Yvel, LC Davis, Paul Daley, Santiago, Rothwell, Horodecki, Gomley, Dan Luazon, and Hominick.

Yeah I heard today that there is a press conference sheduled for friday morning.

It will be interesting to see exactly who they are taking on. My guess is maybe 3-4 names will make us take notice... The rest are just filler...

Affliction didn't have that many fighters so twenty pretty much sounds like every damn fighter they had with the exception of mousasi, heiron and babalu. Guys like Belfort, Santiago, Barnett (i know i know), gormely, rothwell, gomi, horodecki, etc........ could possibly be in there.

Oh by the way it has been confirmed that Belfort is DEFINITELY one of the contracts the UFC gobbled up.

That is something I am definitely hoping for. My god the possible match ups are amazing.

Oh yeah me too I think he is the excitment the division needs. He is kinda like wandy he doesn't really have boring fights.

Yeah a lot of people think his best years are behind him but I think the UFC is the perfect motivation for him. A lot of people forget how much power Gomi has for a 155'er. He did drop Diaz on his ass with a punch. With his kind of power at that weight you just never know. I don't think he'll get the belt or anything but he would have some great great fights.

Yeah but he was owned by BJ back in the day too. With so many wrestlers in LW I think he is a perfect fit to mix things up.

Thats exactly why i don't think he'll get the belt.
