| meh at hasty p4p rankings.
dominance by Aldo though. Impressive.
Didnt get to watch the rest of the fights. I guess Manvel is next and i'm surprised to see Smooth finish Cerrone so soon.

| I have never said or thought this about a new UFC event but that fight seemed worked. Like they were encouraged to go 5 or something. Maybe Aldo just felt sorry for Faber and didnt wanna finish him.

| Nothing you can say. Aldo dominates 145 and is a top p4p fighter. Wonder why he deliberately refused to finish Faber in the last round though. He went complete bizarro Anderson Silva in the last round. | |

I couldn't figure out what Anderson was doing in that Maia fight, but it really looked like Aldo felt sorry for Faber in that last round and just didn't feel like dishing out anymore

| I think it was a respect thing. Clearly he was not going to break Faber and he must have known it. It was either cripple him or cruise, and I think he had too much respect to go through with it. No one will ever break Urijah Fabers spirit. My respect just jumped through the fucking roof for both these guys. Aldo is top 3 pound for pound. | |

| Aldo is a class act for not putting the heat on Urijah in round 5 infront of his home crowd. Nothing to prove.
Also, i only watched the main event. Did the broadcast mention WEC at all tonight? I know a merger may be even sooner than they are letting on for the whole org but why ignore WEC like that? They werent on the gloves. No website. No WEC FW title. ALDO vs. FABER.

| Nope WEC was nowhere to be found. Not mentioned, not on the gloves, nowhere in the ring, etc | |

| Donald Cerrone is quickly becoming the Brandon Vera of the LW class. Everytime he is in a big fight he loses but will always crush the Ed Ratcliffs of the world. | |

| Cerrone won those title fights he lost decisions in on my card. Both of em. Not tonight though.
WEC deliberately ignored the entire telecast. I imagine the actual WEC staff hardly touched this event. I imagine there are employees right now of the WEC that are on career builder or getting drunk at this moment.

| Keynotes:
-Korean Zombie got absolutely robbed
-Roller put a absolute clinic on Njokuani and I am very much interested in a Bendo vs Roller rematch. Roller has better wrestling than Bendo and almost knocked him out in their first fight.
-Manny got lucky against MTB and will get destroyed by Aldo
-Cowboy needs to move down to 145 and like I said Bendo vs Roller must happen.
-Faber is officially the Rich Franklin of the 145 division I only see him in super fights from here on out. Maybe he will move to 135?
-No one is beating Aldo at 145 for a long time.

| Good post Ninja. Obviously everyone will take Aldo against Manny but I'm in agreement that it will be an unholy one sided beating that possibly makes him rethink being an MMA fighter | |

| Aldo did a number on Faber's leg but yeah, Faber was way overmatched tonight. He has a lot of heart but Aldo is on another level. I would absolutely love to see Aldo move to LW. There are so many great matchups for him there. Once the merger is complete, Aldo should go to 55. | |

| Actually if you were to think about it, if Faber would move down to 135 he would be instantly the best fighter at that weight considering he beat Cruz pretty easily in the past. It would just put him in a awkward situation though because his teammates Chad Mendes and Benavidez are also at that weight. | |

| SACRAMENTO, Calif. – After several days avoiding the question to the best of his ability, UFC president Dana White finally revealed the true reason "Aldo vs. Faber" was held without any brand connection to the WEC. Network exposure. "[The WEC and UFC] are two different brands on two different networks," White said. "Even though they're owned by the same company, they're two different brands owned by the same company. The networks aren't going to let us do it." With Versus, the traditional home of the WEC, committed to broadcasting hockey with the NHL playoffs, White instead turned to Spike TV as a place to air two preliminary fights as a lead-in to the WEC's first-ever pay-per-view event. But with Spike TV known as the home of the UFC on cable television and Versus holding the rights to the WEC, a compromise had to be reached. White said he was pleased that all parties were able to come to an agreement, even if it did result in an odd brand-free fight night. "Those of you that have been around the TV business know what a battle it is when you have two different brands and all this other stuff," White told MMAjunkie.com ( www.mmajunkie.com). "I really have to thank Spike and Versus for working with me on this thing. http://mmajunkie.com/news/18879/white-reveals-that-versus-spike-tv-agreements-reason-for-brandless-fight-card.mma | |
