| Honestly, with Faber's similar speed, experience and proven record, I have him as the favourite here. 60/40.
Aldo did look pretty good in the wrestling department, has some legit grappling creds and is large for the weight class, but I still like Faber on the ground. The speed is similar, both leave themselves open, but I think Faber will fight smarter and exploit Aldo's wide style. His speed looked less unearthly against Brown.

| Faber puts himself in danger too much, Aldo would counter and drop him, and MTB coundn't get Aldo down, Faber'd have to put himself in danger to do so, Aldo also has much crisper striking.
Aldo by KO, I still think MTB is the second best FW aswell.

| Ya, if Faber tries that cute shit he did tonight where he stands with his hands down, it's over. He didn't get as cute the second time against Brown and stuck more to his boxing guns until his hands were injured. I expect him to keep his hands up and chin tucked, and pick his shots.
Aldo's striking is over rated though, he is more speed than actual technique and I have never seen anyone out of his camp full time with particularly good technique either. Fabiano, Sandro and Leites the only other major fighters out of there. BJ is technically a member of their camp but I doubt he works striking much with them, for good reason.
I got Faber, but Aldo has everything he needs in talent and athelticism to hurt Faber badly. Will Aldo run away with this poll?

| Ya, Aldo walked up in da cage.
I've never seen a situation where the dominant champion for so long is so much an underdog to a newer fighter while that champion/former champion is still in the prime of his career.
Is anyone going to pick him besides me?

| I just think Aldo is better than Faber, I see his as being better at some of the things which make Faber a good fighter and as good at others. My guess, Faber gets a little over agressive and is dropped. | |

| For me, the Brown fight actually made Aldo seem more human. Brown was landing shots on him and even hurt him if I recall, and he didn't look as fast against him as he did against middling competition. Faber seemed faster in their rematch even. The one thing that did impress me in that fight was his strength and how Brown couldn't get him down. That was scary. | |

| See for me Aldo's difference maker is his reflexes when you shoot, either with a knee or a quick kick he stymies it normally and delivers pain, he was getting Brown with fast kicks all night, and I agree, his sprawl was good vs Brown, bad news for Faber | |

| Faber has fast the fast twitch muscle fibers too. Much more explosive than anyone Aldo has seen before. All I know is, Faber submitted a top ten FW blackbelt tonight, is twice as fast as Brown, Brown was able to hit Aldo, and Faber has loads more experience.
Is Aldo really that much more explosive than Faber?

| Aldo has been steamrolling guys so brutally I think we have lost sight of the fact that before Brown his best win was over someone little evil beat just as easily in Cub. None of the guys he has faced are accomplished MMA fighters or even close to sniffing the top ten besides the very washed up Alexandre Franca Nogueria who hasn't been good for nearly five years, Brown and Swanson who he stopped in just seconds, and none of them are very fast or good strikers, besides Brown, who again, he looked a lot more human against on the feet. I know the going by the common opponent for them looks bad for Faber, but besides that, what would fights between Faber and all these guys he has faced look like? Probably very similar.
Don't take this to say that Aldo isn't good or doesn't have a bright future, but I don't think he is ready to be crowned unbeatable against someone like Faber, who has proven to be a p4p stalwart for years.
On another note, thank god everyone that Jens didn't draw Aldo in the last year, that could have happened and that would have been horrible for Jens long term health.

| Wolf, I could be wrong, but I don't remember Brown doing much of anything against Aldo. I remember brown looking extremely uncomfortable with Aldo's speed and length. I think Faber has the speed to match up with Aldo, but I agree with previous posts that Faber's aggression leaves him open too much. Aldo is an extremely crisp striker and I think when Faber drops his hands or comes lunging in (as he did several times last night, head down, with reckless abandon), Aldo is gonna catch him with a knee or a fist. Aldo will pounce and end it. Not sure if it'll be early, but that's my prediction. | |

| Faber will decision Aldo IMO. His quickness is unrivaled. I think Faber would decision MTB in a rematch as well. He would've last time if he hadn't broken his hands. | |

| Yeah i like faber in a UD. I like his speed and think he will be able to take Aldo down and beat him up alittle bit. I think if his hands hold up also his striking could be an effective weapon against Aldo also but if they dont hold up so he can jab to keep aldo off alittle it maybe a short night for him. | |

| Sure, we all know that Aldo is a very good striker and displayed great takedown defense against MTB... A smart Faber is nearly unbeatable though, IMO. He was careless and wreckless against MTB in the first fight, but he respected the skills in the second fight and was much more calculating and I think easily wins that fight if not for the hands. I don't think he's dumb enough to be wreckless against Aldo though.
I'm calling for the shocker and saying Faber ends this at the end of the second via wicked elbows from top position after flooring Aldo with a reverse spinning hook kick - back fist combination... Yep, that's how it goes down...

| The fight Faber fought last night ends with him being KO'd by Aldo
And if MTB had trouble getting Aldo down, Faber isn't exactly gonna have an easy time.
I think MTB would beat Faber a 3rd time aswell

I think MTB would beat Faber a 3rd time aswell This is very true LA. But I rationalize that the same way LTFG does, he won't do that against Aldo. He clearly didn't respect Raph's speed or power from the get go, and wanted to put a show on for his hometown fans, in addition to having to knock off the ring rust a bit. Like I said earlier, I expect him to keep his chin tucked and his hands up against Aldo. None of the cute showmanship stuff.

| Im going Aldo. I didn't think Faber looked great last night, and when Aldo came into the ring, I was wondering if he was wearing platform shoes. He was towering over Faber. An explosive striker, who has shown good takedown defence and he'll have a big height and reach adv?
Im riding the Aldo bandwagon.
