| Agree?
Guys get bucked from mount hell of alot easier than from half or side control IMO
hate when guys give up dominant position for mount and are only in it for 4 seconds. I think great fighters or wrestlers can control a mount, but normally you are to high to stay there long

| id choose mount in the later rounds due to fatigue, the bottom guy is less likely to get out | |

| If someone knows how to position himself, mount is a very dangerous position. Especially for guys who can finish with elbows. No one wants Kenny Florian or GSP getting mount. | |

| I disagree Bird. Mount is deadly when a fighter knows how to keep position. | |

| Mount is the best position to be in in mma. Got to learn how to keep your hips heavy and learn to use the grapevines. There are numerous submission opportunities from mount as well as GnP. | |

| i would say if you train bjj at all, then you'd have a different opinion of mount. It is the position that all bjj guys strive to get. It opens up numerous submission opportunities. | |

| I personally like scarf best. I iso that arm and goto town. But then again if you face someone good enough or strong enough they can power out of take the back. | |

| fights are rarely finished in side control. Usually it's a fat untrained HW being kimura'd. Mount is without a doubt the best position to be in. How many GnP TKOs do we see more from, mount or half guard?
It may be easier to buck someone who has you mounted, but it is also a lot easier for him to punch you in the face with knockout blows too.

| not saying it isnt a great position, Im just wondering if it is the greatest position to have, cause its alot easier to get out of full mount than some other positions. | |

| The fact some fighters can be bucked out of full mount by other fighters doesn't change the over all fact that full mount is the best position you could be in in a fight. | |

| the Crucifix has to be the absolute best position in MMA if we're being literal, with mount being a close second. It's generally much more difficult to get out of a crucifix and your completely defenseless for the most part, at least in Full Mount you still have your hands to try and cover up while your attempting to buck out. It also takes less energy to sustain a crucifix than a full mount. All the work to keep your hips balanced while your torquing your upper body to put leverage into the punches is alot more work than more or less being able to rest most of your balancing weight on your opponents body while you tee off. | |

| Let me explain why I like side mount better. I primarly prefer to stand and look to sprawl, or did when I competed. If I had side control I had elbows, punches while my opponant has no offense. If he scrambles at worst you end up in his guard. More common you briefly get north south with scramble to back or stand back up. In mount if you get bucked your playing guard. | |

| imo it's harder to buck someone off of you in mount then it is to hip escape form side mount. I think Kesa-side mount or whatever it is called is good for landing elbows and such in mma though. | |
