| I take Mo because of his style fo wrestling.
Resume is a toss up. Jones has more depth, but he's never been in the cage vs anyone as good as Mousasi.
Mo has the best signature win.
I'd rank them about even... probably Mo just barely ahead around 4-10.

| Mo needs to show me better cardio, and bones looks a little more dynamic, though Mo is prob stronger. Off of last night i'd say bones because of conditioning.
Mo has the best win, though jones's overall resume is better.
I'd give Bones a slight edge in the rankings.
I like Mo, but I am very high on the much younger bones.

| I guess i would pick Jones...because of his athleticism and Dhalsim reach.
Mo has the biggest trophey of the two.
Jones has more good wins.
Lawal should be ranked higher. He gets Mousasi's spot. So i think i had Gegard 6 or 7. Jones was like 10...i might have to bump the ginger kid because i'm not dropping Gegard completely.

| Bones does look a bit more dynamic, but then again we've never seen Mo face Stephan Bonnar either. | |

| Bones is one of the best young fighters with limitless potential I've seen in a while. He picked Hammill up and threw him on his shoulder so hard it dislocated, he finished Vera like he was nothing. He's quicker, more well-rounded and strong enough with solid enough wrestling to keep it standing, where his unpredictability and reach give him a edge. If Mo gasses that quick in a fight with Bones, he's in deep shit. I also think Bones would have finished Mousasi last night.
Better resume Bones
Better sig win, I'd gve it to Mo, but IMO a fight between Vera and Mousasi would be very interesting.
I rank Bones higher, I think he's the better fighter

| Fair assessment this time LA.
The gas issue I don't think will be a long term factor considering he found a second wind. I don't see any natural cardio problems that will follow him for his career. Nerves and inexperience probably played into that. Maybe Mousasi tagged him with something hard too. But he recovered and won the fight impressively.

| Bones has more wins, but the quality of many of them are below Mo's. Mo has been fighting in big shows and against decent mid level opponents since his debut. It's a toss up for their resume, but only because Mo has the better signature win by far. I have no idea who would win but I'd probably pick Mo because of his superior pedigree in wrestling. Mo just beat a top five fighter to win the only other LHW title that really matters in the sport besides the UFC one, so I will rank him higher. | |

| Yeah, Lawal had some reserves last night. He looked gassed big time at the end of the first and second but he looked fine in rounds 3,4,5. So i'm thinkiing one of those millions of upkicks and punches Mousasi was landing the the 1st and 2nd round rocked him and it took him awhile to shake the cobwebs out because i don't think Mo looked all that tired in the championship rounds.
..and LA. I don't think Bones does finish Mousasi last night because those elbows from hell would have got him disqualified in Strikeforce and i think that is what makes Jones a dangerous ground and pounder..the far angle the elbow comes from...hard to defend. I think if Mo was allowed to elbow he might have been able to do more damage from the top and possibly finish as well. Jake Shields complained about this last night as well. Perhaps a rule that needs to be changed so Strikeforce would be more appealing for wrestlers and they would have probably saw all finishes last night had the grapplers been able to use elbows. Not everyone lays the leather on the ground like Fedor, Brock, Cain, Munoz, and all those ground and pounders.

| This thread was almost Bones vs Mo vs Bader actually.
Bader and Bones get compared a lot since they're both UFC fighters, but Bader is a lot more like Mo than he is Jones really. Both have less dynamic striking styles than Bones but both appear to be better punchers than Bones, and both have had weird cardio issues early in fights that they have fought through and won with.

| One thing about Mo that impressed me last night was that while he still has some work to do on his standup, even when he got tired he wasn't throwing winging arm shots. They were still straight and crisp | |

| Gegard has k1 type kickboxing and is supposedly good enough to fight as a pro boxer, yet Mo found his chin numerous times. | |

| I actually liked Mo's standup. It was not going to win him a fight vs. Mousasi but i don't consider it a weakness. He landed some pretty decent shots standing and showed some decent head movement as well. I think his stand up is pretty good considering it's his plan B after his wrestling that should be the best in the cage on most nights.
After this i kind of want to see Daniel Cormier fight somebody of note at HW. King Mo, Rashad, Shields are always raving about this guy having the best of the best wrestling in MMA.

| Didn't Cormier look really sloppy in his first fight on Showtime? I know it was his first fight but I thought I remembered him struggling to get takedowns and looking really winded early in that fight | |

| People are gonna call me a crazy mofo
Mo beats Bones, he has the WRESTLING to get Bones on his back
Guy lets be serious, Bones isnt gonna be judo hip tossing Mo around. Mo is 10 X better at wrestling than Hammill.
I think the record question is a wash, both are damn near equal, Bones slightly better
Mo has the bigger signature win IMO
I think Mo should be ranked higher he just beat a guy that alot of people (like it or not) had in their top 10.

| It's hard to say who would win. Mo has the wrestling advantage but I'd give Bones the athleticism. Bones has wicked reach and combined with his athleticism may just allow him to stuff some takedown attempts from Mo. In terms of striking I give the edge to Bones based solely on the grounds that his strikes come from more unorthodox and "hard to train for" angles and places. At some points Mo was just swinging and hoping to hit Mousasi with a haymaker. I'd give single punch power to Mo, but ability to Bones. On the ground I think it depends on who's on top. Mo's top game looked ineffective at times, but Mousasi has a very well known guard and very dangerous sub game, especially from the bottom. I think Mo's ground and pound would look alot different against someone less active from the back than Mousasi. If I had to choose I'd say Jones because he'd likely not allow the takedowns to succeed so easily, coming from a wrestling background himself, and would probably land heavy shots on the feet.
Better Resume goes to King Mo as of saturday.
Mo has the signature win(though it's close when you factor in how Jones ended Vera)
As far as who should be ranked higher, I'd give it to Mo simply for the names on his resume so far, albeit some of them were over the hill(such as Kerr). His wins aren't against top competition, but I'd take Mike Whitehead and Travis Wiuff over Stephan Bonnar and Jake O'Brien

Actually, Cormier looked like crap in the first round of that fight and very strong in the second. I think the guy, Frazier avoided a takedown or two in the 1st round but for the most part Cormier was looking to stand most of the fight and then took him down and finished him with strikes. In his last fight Cormier knocked out the guy he fought in 1 minute. He trains with a good team at AKA and all those guys rave about him being the best wrestler.
