I made mention of the possibility earlier in the Kenny v. Maynard thread. Looks like the rematch could headline with Maynard v. KenFlo on the undercard... If everyone's healthy. What's not mentioned is that Edgar had stated earlier in the week he might sit a bit during his wife's pregnancy.

Don't fighters have to weigh in before the fight on fight day in Mass ? That would be bad for BJ and I would hope he wouldn't take the fight if that is the case.

I can't stand that bull shit.

The rule in NC is a fighter can't weight more than 13 pounds more than what he weighed at weigh ins. So at UFC FN 21 Gleison Tibau was able to do it then I have no problem believing BJ can do it. I think in Mass a 155 can weigh no more than 164 and some change so its a little tighter.

Back in March they also adopted this:

The state’s athletic commission this past weekend amended its unusual weigh-in policy, which bars fighters from weighing more than 1.0625 of their contract weight on fight night. The rule discourages excessive weight cutting and gains. Under the change, fighters will not be weighed twice if both agree to waive a second weigh-in.

“Both fighters in a particular fight would have to agree,” commissioner Todd Grossman said. “And if that’s the case, then they would acknowledge essentially that there’s no restriction on the amount of weight that their opponent could put on by the time they face them the next evening.”

The commission has yet to draw up the verbiage for the double weigh-in waiver, but it would be included as an option in standard bout agreements.

He'd still get creamed by 100% BJ Penn, BJ usually doesn't come in weighing much more than 165 anyway.
