| 25. Kaz Fujita vs Mark Kerr - the first time Kerr lost a fight, and it was memorable. Even though it was clear he peaked really, really fast.
24. Ken Shamrock vs Dan Severn - Ken was a 6 or 7 to 1 underdog and everyone thought Severn was going to take him to the ground at will. Ken sprawled Dan and got the neck in under 3 minutes.
23. Oleg Taktarov vs Tank Abbott - In the finals of UFC 6 tournament everyone was thinking Tank was going to blast Oleg out of there quick. It went over 14 minutes and was one of the first classic UFC fights. Oleg got the kneck when Tank was extremely gassed. Oleg was gassed as well.
22. Kevin Randleman vs Mirco Cro Cop - everyone was thinking Cro Cop was going to win and go on to the finals in the Pride tournament. Randleman spoiled those plans with a huge hook and ensuing bum rush. Randleman knocked out Cro Cop and went on to fight Fedor.
21. Shinya Aoki vs Joachim Hansen - nobody saw this one coming. Pretty shocking to see Aoki lose like that.
20. Pete Williams vs Mark Coleman - Mark Coleman is coming off his first loss and the whole show which was called "Revenge" was built around COleman unleashing the Ground and Pound fury on first time UFC fighter Pete Williams. To make it even harder it was on 2 weeks notice cause WIlliams was supposed to fght Dan Severn (pulled out after Kimo fight). Fight was going COlemans way until he began to gas, and boom, after 12 minutes Pete Williams lands the first great head kick Knockout in UFC History on the former Champ.
19. Sakuraba vs Schembri - nobody saw those knee's coming. Nobody, Sakuraba had looked good in previous fights after a few losses but this one came out of no where.
18. Sokodjou vs Noguiera - Soko bum rushed his way to a massive upset. Cool to see, and its definitely Soko's calling card. Not a bad card to have at all. HUGE UPSET.
17. Grabiel Gonzaga vs Mirco Cro Cop - who woulda thought Cro Cop would be the one getting head kicked to a near death experience.
16. Maurice Smith vs Mark Coleman - the first time a striker beats a wrestler in the UFC. Coleman had won 2 UFC tournament ans was the Heavyweight champion.Smith did it by using an effective guard and making Coleman gas. he also leg kicked Coleman to death. Went to the scorecards and they got it right. Maurice Smith was UFC Heavyweight Champion.
15. Joe Lauzon vs Jens Pulver - Lil Evil was supposed to be back, Joe Lauzon feared no evil and blasted Jens with a left hook early in the fight.
14. Seth Petruzelli vs Kimbo Slice - The guy that works at Jamba Juice with the pink hair knocked out Kimbo in 8 seconds??????????
13. Frankie Edgar vs BJ Penn - this is a big one guys, it really is. We were talking about BJ being the best Light Weight on the planet and being untouchable 24 hours ago.
12. Dan Henderson vs Wanderlei Silva - Hendo had 2 KOs in the last 6 years. He drilled the Axe Murderer into a huge upset.
11. Vitor Belfort vs Randy Couture - This thing called The Phenom the future of the sport and was going to blast this old ass guy with a little bit of hair. The old man beat Vitor down and roughed him up into a dismantling victory.
10. Fedor vs Big Nog - Hard to believe this was a big upset. it was. Nog was supposed to be the best Heavyweight in the world, this russian guy named Fedor mauled him and avoided submissions.
9. Randy COuture vs Tim Sylvia - Come on this was a big upset. No one thought Randy would man handle Timmy
8. Randy Couture vs Tito Ortiz - People thought the Chuck fight might have been a fluke, nope Randy spanked Tito, literally.
7 Takanari Gomi vs Nick Diaz - The greatest No Contest upset ever. Gomi was winning an entertaining stand up battle but fell into a gogoplauta and it was all she wrote.
6. BJ Penn vs Matt Hughes - Matt Hughes was considered the greatest Welterweight around and was consdered the best fighter in the world. BJ Penn had no shot at beating Hughes, it was over when Hughes tapped at the end of round 1.
5. Gomi vs Aurelio - Gomi's first loss in Pride and it was shocking, Gomi out in the first round.
4. Forrest Griffin vs Rampage - never in a million years did I think Forrest wins this fight, I thought Rampage would do what Anderson Silva did.
3. Randy Couture vs Chuck Liddell - Randy Couture is 40 coming off a retirement and facing the considered uncrowned Light Heavyweight CHampion Chuck Liddell. Randy is going to get crushed, he ends up stopping Chuck. BIggest of all the great upsets in Couture's career.
2. Forrest Griffin vs Rua - I was a huge non believer in TUF fighters that I hadnt seen in UFC or Pride before. I thought RUa was going to destroy Griffin and Rua was considered one of the best in the division. Griffin ended up dominating and having the biggest win of his career IMO. This was more clear cut and arguably verse a better fighter.
1. Matt Serra vs GSP - Isnt close this thing is the upper echelon of MMA Upsets, its the Tyson vs Buster Douglas. Unbelievable what happened.
There you have it guys my top 25 MMA upsets all time
Feel free to make a list
honorable mention to Mark Hall vs Wandy and Arona vs Wandy, Royce Gracie vs the UFC field, Royve vs Sakuraba, Jardin Liddell , and Jardine Houston. | |

| Mark Hunt says: Baby you breakin my heart keep in mind that Wanderlei was on a 17 fight win streak when Hunt got that decision. Surely it's a bigger upset than one of those listed. | |

| I would say Brett Rogers knocking out Andrei Arlovski in 22 seconds deserves honorable mention as well. I for one was very upset about that. | |
