Hardy still running his mouth about GSP

UFC welterweight Dan Hardy (23-7 MMA, 4-1 UFC) is the first to admit that Georges St-Pierre (20-2 MMA, 15-2 UFC) is a better grappler than him. But he's not convinced the champion is a better fighter.

He's not impressed with St-Pierre's performance.

"[St-Pierre] just convinced me that he can keep me on the floor for 25 minutes," Hardy told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) on Wednesday from Charlotte, N.C., where he was visiting friends and supporting teammates Ross Pearson and Andre Winner as they prepared to fight at UFC Fight Night 21.


One thing he says later in the article that I agree with...
"I was saying this in the buildup to the fight – 'GSP' doesn't take risks in his fights anymore," he said. "He knew that my strength was striking and (within) 17 seconds of the first round, he shot in for a takedown. I think that says a lot about his approach to the fight game. He goes in there to win the fight and keep the belt and not to beat his opponent".


Hardy... You got owned, plain and simple. But you're right about GSP's strategy at this point in his career...

So GSP is smarter than him, big shock. In most cases when you win a fight your opponent loses, most. If GSP was unimpressive in his fight with Hardy, what does that make Hardy? If Hardy was a better fighter he would of won. He should quit being a bitch.

I get that GSP is probably the best takedown guy in MMA right now but if Hardy didnt come in with a shitty gameplan, he wouldnt have been taken down so many times.

Also...GET SOME JIU JITSU...how dumb is he? If you know anything about jiu jitsu, its designed to help you get out from underneath people and apply submissions if you want to.

Hardy only has his striking to hold his hat on and thats why he will never be a champion. You have to be a pretty well rounded fighter these days to be a champion.

No I even went as far as to critisize GSP for being a "pussy", not showing killer instinct, and not finishing the subs. Might be a bit harsh but I just think if he was as ruthless as some others are(Palhares) those subs would have been finished.

I dont mind him running his mouth, he is trying to stay revelant in a division where he might be outside the top 10 in talent. He is just marketing.

However he had his chance to test GSPs beard and was gunshy because of getting manhandled to the ground but pre fight he vowed not to hold back his strikes

He is like every1 else he knows GSP is gonna try to take him down and he still cant stop it. No 1 can. If BJ couldnt stay on his feet we knew Hardy had no shot.
