So, what names should we expect in this tournament?

Gegard Mousasi already said he was fighting in it.

I think it's possible we see Mark Coleman make his way to Japan for this.

Paulo Filho?
Glover Texeria?
Jeff Monson?
Tony Lopez?
probably Sokoudjou

Any prospects lesser known that anybody think can be in this tournament?

Damn Lopez gets a lot of exposure now all of a sudden that he fought on a televised card. Babalu might do this. Maybe King Mo. Bobby Southworth. Houston Alexander. Kazahiro Nakamura might move back up. Kevin Randleman. Sokojoudou. Ricardo Arona still rehabing an injury. Melvin Manhoef fights LHW a lot. Marvin Eastman. Trevor Prangley. Jeremy Horn. Mike Kyle.

Lots of possible names.

Hopefully Tony Lopez and a few obscure but talented names get in. The Dream Grand Prix has made some new stars.

FW GP made Joe Warren and Bibiano Fernandes
LW GP is where Aoki really started getting big recognition
WW GP made Marius Zaromskis
MW GP made Gegard Mousasi a big name everybody wants.

Hopefully they can get the same out of a LHW grand prix instead of it being just another feather in Gegard Mousasi's cap. Not saying somebody needs to beat Mousasi but hopefully new international names get introduced.

Yeah if Mousasi beats Mo this is where he will lose to an up and comer.

No reason for Mousasi to enter.

I agree Farmer but if he does it shows he is a true competitor and i will respect him much more just for taking the challenge. Now a days to many people play it safe for no reason.

I disagree. He'll be fighting lower competition. He'd be better off fighting King Mo, Hendo, or maybe some of SF's HWs.

Mousasi has plenty of reason to enter. He said he wants to fight 8 or 10 times or whatever this year didn't he?

Winning a Dream GP is about as pretegious a tournament win you can get these days. It's not like Strikeforce has a bunch of opponents lined up for him. He'll fight King Mo anyway, then what?

Hellboy and Eddie Alvarez also got a lot of recognition from their Dream GP performances.

So did Mousasi when he won the MW one. I just feel like he is at a point in his career he needs to look for bigger and better things vs the top 10, not up and comers and whoever else Dream can find.

Hendo, Werdum, Lashley, Jacare(rematch), and Big Foot are all more interesting and higher level fights than any he'd most likely get in a Dream GP.

Well, he already said he's going to compete in it. If guys like Paulo Filho and Glover Texieria are involved. There is a good chance Mousasi will run into worthy competiton much like his MW GP win.

I just hope Xande is in it. That dude would be the Maia of LHW, but with bad intentions. He's been pounding out guys in MMA.

And of course the Japanese will bring back Kevin Randleman.

Randleman? That is the type of competition you want in this GP? He's lost 9 of his last 12 dating back to 03.

Randleman would not be good but he would not be in it because in Japan, he signed to Sengoku.

Sengoku is a rotting corpse, I am sure if Dream wanted him they could get him.

Sengoku has 10-0 Stanislav Nedkov as well. He would be a good prospect to have in this tournament.

Not saying I want Randleman, but this is Japan and they have a thing for charismatic black guys. I would be surprised if he wasn't incorporated.

There is a handful of unknowns that I would like to see like Raphael Cavalcante, Jan Blachowicz, Mario Miranda, and Raphael Davis. Stanislav would be cool too. Add Coleman, Lawal, Mousasi, Sobral, Sokoudjou, Arona, Filho, [maybe Hendo] and you would have a pretty cool tournament with knowns and unknowns. I hope it pans out this way.

Mario Miranda is in the UFC.

I agree with Farmer, no need for Mousasi to do this. But if he does... Great! I don't see anyone outside the UFC being a threat short of Hendo and/or a Serra type moment from out of nowhere.

And did someone mention Monson? Seriously, what's he going to do to make weight in the next 4-5 months, cut off his right leg? Just shelfing the "supplements" isn't getting him to 205 if this happens before Christmas...
