| The weird thing is that Anderson Silva could be in trouble against Chael. Chael would be more than willing to do to Silva for five rounds what Hendo only did for one.
Anderson has the toughest year ahead of him for the #1s, facing two and maybe three top five middleweights. Belfort is nitroglycerin and Sonnen is MMA's best smotherer. Throw in the winner of say Maia and Okami [I hope they fight] and that could make for a murderers row for Silva.

| I was in the Chael will be run over camp. I have to fight myself to give him credit, cause I think Nate did a lousy job. Is takedown defense not part of his training? Did he know he was about to fight a guy whose only real weapon is wrestling?
Still Chael won in impressive fashion.
But Silva via KO, I do not believe Chael to be an elite level fighter.

| What your definition of an "elite level fighter"? | |

The Spider, GSP, Penn, Fedor type's. Truly elite. I have Henderson as a step below. And I have Chael below that.

| Those 4 guys are the best all-time in their divisions. I think a top 5 MW is elite, but its all personal definition.
Hendo vs. Sonnen would be a close fight IMO, if it was 5 rds I'd pick Sonnen.

Hendo vs. Sonnen would be a close fight IMO, if it was 5 rds I'd pick Sonnen. yeah by definition elite means the best, so that's how I'm using it. If Sonnen beat Hendo I would def have to move him up a class. But Im still reluctant right now.

| As it pertains to a group, with MMA as a whole, he wouldn't be elite, but as a MW he is.
Sonnen is good, but I can understand ur reluctance.

But Silva via KO, I do not believe Chael to be an elite level fighter. Nate could have spent his whole camp wrestling and it wouldnt have been enough to catch up to Chael's wrestling. Nate is a good wrestler, but Chael is a great wrestler and that was the big difference tonight. I think Chael has a great chance against Silva, but lets not forget that Nate never fights off his back and Anderson has shown that he can. Either way, Sonnen has improved a lot and is very impressive.

| Ya I am kind of with LA here. When you represent one of the five or ten best fighters in your weightclass of hundreds of thousands of fighters world wide, you're probably elite. | |

| If I were Nate I would work on my wrestling nonstop and look for fights against Mark Munoz or Jake Rosholt in order to answer those questions that now exist.
He needs to prove this fight is a fluke.
