| My opinions on saturday night.
While I was super pumped by how ready to fight BJ was acting when they were anouncing him and Nick. I could tell he didn't train like he should've, and while BJ did well in the first round in the seconds before the start of the second round you could see how tired he was. I thought he'd be motivated for this fight but it's obvious to me now that he just doesn't want it bad enough, which is fine, he's a legend my favorite fighter always. He atleast showed the heart of a warrior taking that beating.
And I'm not taking anything away from Nick, as big of a fan of his I've been I think I've underrated him terribly. He's definitely got the best boxing in mma, his bjj is right up there with BJ's, his reach is gonna be trouble for any WW he fights, he doesn't slow down, I think he's the best WW in the world. GSP holds that title I know but I think Nicks gonna beat him.
Lastly, I feel like we saw the best BJ PENN during his LW title defenses against Kenflo and Sanchez. He was a ripped monster training with the marvich(or however you spell their name) bros. I'm all for BJ's retirement if he can't motivate himself to get back with the marvich bros. Either way BJ is the shit to me and he'll always be the best in my eyes

| He needs to not retire. Go back to LW and fight Kenny Florian again. | |

| He could still kick ass at whatever weight he wanted but he just has to really train hard and not just tell people he is. | |

| IMO if he trains hard BJ could still be the best LW in the world but I think that at best he could be a top WW but not the best. Of course I'm hoping he gets back to training like he was for the florian and sanchez fights goes back down to LW and gets back on top but who knows man. | |

| I know BJ did lose the fight but he showed me what level Nick is at right now. Nick has a great all around game but his cardio is soooo much better then most guys in MMA. It might just be the best right now. Cardio won him that fight against BJ. BJ is a better boxer and he proved it in that first round when they were both fresh, but BJ did not train hard enough to pull out the win. If BJ was in better shape I think he beats Nick. I thought the same thing when he was coming out for the 2nd round. I was like "fuuuuuuuuck BJ, why?" I hope BJ trains with Nick and goes back to LW because he showed me that he has the speed and skills in that first round against Nick to compete with the top guys at WW and LW. He just needs to up his cardio in a big way or retire.
Either way, BJ will always be the ideal mixed martial artist to me.

You wish! LOL pop quiz what's BJ's ethnicity? I won't even answer a question that easy. You better come with something better then that one. The average BJ fan should know the answer to that one just from watching the countdown show his parents were on. I think you are probably a bigger BJ fan, because he is just one of my favorites. I like Cung and Mayhem just as much when it comes down to it.

BJ picked Nick apart in that 1st round. I think his speed was giving Nick big problems. I think BJ showed his boxing was better. cardio was his problem and that was it.

| I don't buy the retirement. Should go back to 155 although he's definitely beatable now by a few guys in that division and I question his commitment | |

| I'm mean you've got to question BJ's commitment, at this point theres no way around it. If he really wants to keep fighting then he needs to train like he was against florian and sanchez or atleast commit himself like he did in those camps IF he does that I don't think anyone beats him at LW
I'll add this, again coming from a huge fan of his, BJ is straight up lying when he talks about not fighting for money and he's just fighting to be the best ever, well sorry I'm not buying that anymore if that was the case you'd be working your ass off on your cardio cause that the only thing that's ever held him back.
BJ and Rampage are both known for hating training(Rampage admits it, BJ tries to tell people he likes it but we all know the truth) but I thought BJ was like Page in that he was hungery enough and professional enough to come in fight shape regardless. But BJ continues to come into big fights out of shape. His biggest weakness is his own commitment.
