| In light of what Kenny has to say here, how does a fight between these two go down at LW? http://www.mmamania.com/2010/1/23/1266667/ufc-quick-quote-kenny-florian-saysQuoteworthy: "You know, I pretty much predicted that [Diego returning to welterweight]. The skill level at 155lbs is the best in the UFC, if you look across the board, in terms of well-rounded fighters. You are not going to come in to the UFC 155 division and start finishing guys right away. People see me doing it and what do they think I'm doing, just lying around not training? I train my ass off every single day to be able to do that and it's not an easy thing to be able to finish guys at 155. That's something I really pride myself on. The only guys, I think, at 155 that are consistently finishing people are me and BJ Penn. I think that takes a special skill to be able to do that. Not everybody can do that, I don't promise to be able to do that all the time but that's the way I fight and that's the way I train to fight. Diego thought he was going to be able to go out there and just smash people at 155. Not going to happen, Diego. The skill level is too good out there. You have to be very, very well rounded. He thought what he was able to do at 170, he was going to do even better at 155 and that's just not the case. It just shows me the talent that is out there at 155. In my opinion, Diego just never looked great at 155." | |

| It'd be a good one, but I stick with Diego because he's done it before. I know a lot has changed, but neither looked good vs Penn and both have looked good vs top guys like Stevenson & Guida. Sanchez hasn't been at 155 long enough to really get a good feel for what he can do there. Sanchez also hung with a very good Jon Fitch. I don't think Kenny would be able to do that. | |

| Kenflo. Really wish we could see this rematch
I agree that Diego just never really looked that good at 155. He was missing the power. Shit he hit Guida with fuckin everything but Dana's wallet in that 1st round and couldn't stop him and Guida came back and won the last half the fight. Then months later Guida had absolutely nothing for Kenny who walked right through him.

| Kenny, I just think he's better than Diego at 155 and I agree with him that Diego never looked that great at LW. | |

| Diego wins at 170, 185 or a catchweight of 163-5 pounds, but Kenflo at LW. | |

| Kenny would kick his fucking ass! I don't think Florian was being dishonest in saying what he said, he is right. He and BJ are the very best LWs in the world and they do fuck people up. People think this guy is this and that guy is that, but in the LW division they own it. Aoki, Maynard, Guida, any of them are going to get beat down by those guys. I do think Joe Daddy is gonna make a nice comeback though. | |

| I'll take kenny, close fight. also, i've been thinking, Aoki subbed Avlerez, and i consider Alverez to be good enough to hang with ufc lw's. Im starting to think Aoki would sub alot of guys, but Bj will crush him. | |

| KenFlo would take it. He's the most improved fighter I've ever seen come off of the Ultimate Fighter show. I'm almost postive he'll be the LW champ by the end of 2011. | |

| I'd take Diego in a fight against Kenny any day any weight. Deigo's jumping back up cause he knows he can't beat BJ he could stay number 2 in lw if he wanted to imo | |

I'm a KenFlo fan, but I'd say he's behind Rashad and Kos, if not others.

| This would be a very close fight despite what some may think, neither guy has faced the other top LWs in that division outside of BJ, whom dominated both. Kenny's really been lucky to avoid Edgar, Sherk, Maynard and Griffin in that division, and Diego the same, he got his shot without facing any of them. | |

Exactly. Odd how the TUF stars got such an easy road.

Exactly. Odd how the TUF stars got such an easy road. Forrest sure didn't with Shogun (the #1 or #2 in the world at the time)

| Forrest isn't a lightweight and wasn't referenced in the discussion.
Forrest got amazingly lucky in fighting a much inferior Shogun though.

| Kenny did fight Sherk a couple years ago and lost. I look forward to him fighting some of the above names though as I think he beats all of them | |

Forrest got amazingly lucky in fighting a much inferior Shogun though. You brought up TUF stars. Forrest is the biggest TUF star around. Maynard isn't having an easy road. He's gone through Edgar (who's leap frogging him), Diaz (a fighter that won TUF and beat him already), Miller (who's destroyed everyone's he's faced in the UFC minus Maynard), and Heurta isn't too shabby either.

| Diego lacks the striking prowess to keep up with Kenny at 155. Kenny didn't exactly get destroyed on the feet against BJ, albeit every time he got into trouble/got BJ in trouble he went for the clinch against the cage. Florian had the misfortune of a bad game plan against BJ more than he was that far below BJ in ability.
I'll take Kenny by TKO stoppage when he opens Diego like a tin can.

I agree... Prior to the Penn fight, I said Diego would win the rematch with Kenny. After the Penn fight I just don't see the evolution in the game for Diego at LW that Kenny has shown (I mistakingly though he would retain some pop in his strikes, and that he might be able to work some ground game). I think now, Kenny can go blow for blow standing and wins the ground game.

| I like Flo's skills, but Diego showed himself a tougher fighter imo. Flo fought scared vs Penn, Diego just took his beating like a man.
Still I think Flo could pull another elusive style win like we saw vs Huerta. I do not think he could finish him.
Probably the most interesting fight at 155 imo.
