| I believe this guy fought Sergei recently in Japan. This is still insane Strikeforce had to do this. Whatever though, this guy is a bigger name than their other fighter was so this has already backfired on whoever put the Florida commission up to that. | |

| I'd laugh if this guy beat Lashley, but he still seems like a guy brought in just to gift Lashely a win. He's fought some big names, but has always been beat down, why has this guy fought all these good fighters? | |

| Lashley is no different than Yohan Banks. Just an up and comer. The only true difference is Lashley was famous.
And Jimmy's record is a lot worse than I imagined. This may be "less competitive" than the other one was.
Who actually agrees with what the commission did though?
I feel it has shades of corruption written all over it.

| LA, I feel what your saying, but this cat is a 4-0 guy who made his debut less than two years ago.
Would a random guy who had to work his way up but was similarly gifted with a similar wrestling pedigree, like say, Shane Carwin, be denied a fight like this at that stage in his career? He wasn't. Would we expect him to be facing top twenty guys?
I don't see these fights as gifting him with wins as much as giving him fights appropriate for his skillset and experience.

| http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Yohan-Banks-21217http://www.sherdog.com/pictures/gallery/fighter/21217/I tried to post his pics in the other thread. He is 2-1 MMA who is just staring out himself. He has three total fights, two are wins within Strikeforce, his last one being an 18 second KO victory. His one loss is a decision loss to a guy who himself is 5-1 and his only loss is to Chase Gromley who fights for the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He isn't an aged vet or a blown up middle weight. He is a rookie not unlike Lashley. Not that he is a world beater, but to say this fight isn't competitive is total assbabble. Yohan has two Strikeforce wins in three fights and this was a huge opportunity for him that the commission has taken away for no good reason. This new fight is probably less competitive and significantly less interesting. | |

| This dude would be a "jobber" for Fedor or Overeem, but for a 4-0 guy? | |

| Yeah I feel bad for Banks in this whole situation. Imagine having a chance to make a name for youself by beating someone like Lashley who is already being promoted by Strikeforce (but is still an inexperienced, green fighter) but then having the fight get canceled because a commission says it wouldn't be competitive. I would be super fucking pissed if I was him | |

| 6-12-1 since his little KOTC stint 8 years ago. Saw him fight in Visalia a few years back. He verbally submitted to 205 pound Anthony Ruiz, the guy I hoped SF would have fight Lashley. Ambriz was 290 for that one. When Ruiz was able to push him off and separate he battered Jimmys face at will. Ambriz quit after getting kicked in the side. Ambriz's best fight at this point is Tank Abbott with one minute rounds and 3 minute round breaks. If lshley can't beat him in less than 90 seconds it will be a huge fail. | |

| LOL so this is a less competitive fight in all honesty.
The plus side of the Yohan fight is if Yohan won, Strikeforce has another prospect they could build up. There is no upside in this fight. Jimmy is a journeyman and will be that way for life.

Wait a minute. . . . . . . . .. . ........ . . . Yes! Jimmy can win. Seriously though, it is always weird how much this guy looks like a friend of mine from high school. White but tanned, 5'10" 270 lbs of mostly round muscle( Defensive Tackle type) funky hair, collection of tats, but mostly the face, just weird.

| So we will see 2 fights featuring 2 complete chumps, while a very legitimate fight is currently stationed on the non televised portion of the card? Poorly down by SF. | |

| The Lashley-Banks fight was a legit prospect watch fight. That fight has become a lot less appealing at this point. The Walker fight is just a novelty but still worth seeing imo. | |
