Wow. I've never heard Lyoto speak on the matter, just Anderson and he always says no. Silva's kicks are probably better than Rua's and his hands are WAY better. It could be trouble Lyoto.

yah but lyoto controls where this fight goes. this will probably be determined by who has the better ground game not striking. lyoto is no idiot, he knew rua had better BJJ that why the entire fight was on the feet. with spider, it might be the opposite.

I think Silva KO's Machida for the first time ever.

That or it goes to a decision where Silva still wins.

if he gets outstriked by silva i think he will. the takedown is silva's weakness and lyoto would be crazy to not capitalize on that. silva is a good fighter on his back, but lyoto knows enough BJJ to neutralize it. you'll be seeing a lot of hendo vs. silva round 1.

Machida isn't Hendo and he isn't going to be able to grind out 3/5 rounds with that strategy,

This would be a terrible fight. Silva is mostly a counter striker against other good strikers. And Lyoto is almost always counter striking. So, they'd just stand there and trade a few blows, but nothing significant would ever happen. And, there really isn't any need for this matchup, unless Silva actually goes and beats all contenders at 205 and there isn't anyone else to face except for Machida. There would be way too much hype for this fight, if it ever did happen, and the actual fight would be a disappointment. I'd rather watch Silva vs. Belfort.

I do think Anderson is a punk for saying he doesn't wanna fight a "friend." I don't know why he even says that when he clearly has the advantantage and would most likely win.

even if they fought...i guarantee it would end up going to a fairly boring decision because they know eachothers games and are friends. GSP had it right. You don't want to go smashing your friends face in.

Machida wins that fight.

Who cares who wins the fight the fans are the 1s that actually win. We know who the best is and thats why they should fight.
