| For the UFC Heavyweight title.
1st rd match-ups have to be finished by the end of April. 2nd rd by the end of August. Final is in December.
RD 1-
1. Frank Mir vs Shane Carwin 2. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs Cain Velasquez 3. Junior Dos Santos vs Andre Arlovski 4. Roy Nelson vs Gabriel Gonzaga
RD 2-
5. Winner from match 1 vs Winner from match 4 6. Winner from match 2 vs Winner from match 3
Final-
Winner from match 5 vs Winner from match 6
No interim title. If Brock comes back he has to win the title back from the winner of the tournament. |

| Well since we don't know Brock's status and he is in fact The Heavyweight Champion of the UFC, having a tourney would seem pointless. At least he isn't the WAMMA HW Champion? | |

| Kimbo can't beat any top 20 heavyweight in the world. |

Yes. Yes, I was. Some of the fighters you include in your original post aren't really that good. I just think there isn't enough talent in the heavy weight division to make an 8 man tourney. I'd do: Frank Mir vs. Junior Dos Santos Shane Carwin vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira And, didn't they allow a four man tourney on one night in some smaller promotion? A one night tournament would be awesome.

| Dana would never allow a 4 man 1 night tournament. |

The Commissions wouldn't approve it unless it was like Wamma did with shortened times in each round per fight. Fighters are only allowed to fight 25 minutes max a night.

| Interesting. So you can make 1st fight be 3*3min rds followed by 3*5min rds? That's pretty good. |

| I was thinking more like 2 five minute rounds, and then 3 five minute rounds would be cool. But, then there'd be a chance for draws in the first match. | |

| Holding the event in Abu Dhabi would fix all of that though. They could do it there easily. I wouldn't mind Kimbo being in an alternate bout. Kongo vs Kimbo and Rothwell vs Duffee in alternate clashes. | |

Very true, they could hold it anywhere that doesn't follow the unified rules.

| MMA isn't even legal in England(as of last year, don't know if it changed) and has zero regulation. In fact there was some question whether if a law enforcement body wanted to, they could just arrest the fighters for assault legally last year.
Promotions are the "sanctioning body" in England. This is part of why certain fighters like Penn don't like fighting there, in addition to the shittier buy rates. I remember some controversial fight in England, the results were disputed by the UFC itself, who had the power to declare it a NC or whatever. Coincidence the worst decision in UFC history went down in England involving the biggest star there? You decide.

| the days of the tournaments are gone they cant get sanctioned anymore
But if its over a course of time, I always like tournaments but the UFC ranking normally sort out whos who in the division so in a way they already have tournaments playing out.
Me personally I like when a UFC PPV was a tournament more than when it is a card

| Except you had to deal with the inevitable pullouts after a guy won his firrst fight due to some type of injury which sucked. Alternates and losers fighting in the next round always kind of ruined it for me | |

and that is why the tournaments with the SuperFight Championship as the Headliner was always the best format for me You got to see a tournament which always had something fun either way normally , and a hugh quality match up. I liked it when there was just a supreme "Man of UFC" or Champion , everybody knew who everybody eventually wanted to get to fight . It was fun. Congress came along and fucked it up

Wouldn't have to call the winner the UFC HW champ. They could say the winner is the UFC HW GP winner or somthing. I think that would be better than an interm belt. Never happen though

| Am I the only won who thinks having the guys fight 2 or 3 times in a night waters it down? I like them to be at 100 percent with no excuses. I dont want to hear Mir say I could have beaten Nog if JDS fight didnt take so much out of me. So although I do miss tourneys I much rather would have the tourney format over like 3 ppvs. | |
