| There have been 15 UFC HW champions or Interim champions. I've created a tournament to see who this board thinks is the UFC HW GOAT. Please vote for who you think would win these fights when they held the title.

Elite 8 results-
1. JDS 5-1 Josh Barnett 2. Cain Velasquez 6-0 Shane Carwin 3. Brock Lesnar 2-4 Andre Arlovski 4. Bas Rutten 4-2 Big Nog

So either you can say the Heavyweight title came from the SuperFight title (which was in reality an open weight title) or that the UFC HW title came from winning UFC 10 and 11. Sorry but its just a gripe of mine.

Sorry but its just a gripe of mine. Mark Coleman was the first Heavyweight Champion. The Superfight title had no weight limit and wasn't recognized as the HW title. |

| This is assuming everyone is in their prime
2. Cain Velasquez vs Maurice Smith - By brutal GNP submission 3. Brock Lesnar vs Kevin Randleman - Brock, because he actually prepares 4. Frank Mir vs Andre Arlovski - Armbar KO 5. Randy Couture vs Josh Barnett - The best fight on the list and Randy was a better puncher and actually the much better athlete. Captain America. 6. Big Nog vs Ricco Rodriguez - Big Nog by sub 7. Bas Rutten vs Tim Sylvia - BR by liver shot TKO 8. Shane Carwin vs Mark Coleman - Coleman via LNP when he is to exhausted to get off of Shane.

| 2 things :
1. Bird is correct and freak would get that if he had actually seen the old UFC's. Shamrock and Severn are defacto HW champions as well.
2. Fedor

1. I have seen them. This thread is specifically about the UFC HW Title and no other title. 2. Fedor has never fought in the UFC |

heres my problem with Ricco, he got destroyed by Tim Sylvia in a couple minutes and lost his title. When Ricco was on, he was Suave, but when he was off, oh shit it was ugly.

I will still take a prime Barnett over JDS, sorry
Velasquez is an easy pick here
Andrei probably can knock out Brock or submit him if Brock got the takedown, people forget Andrei had good sub D
Bas was able to survive on the ground (if your name wasn't Shamrock) and his stand up was amazing, he picks Nog apart and in his prime had developed a good sub defense with a good sprawl. He could pop back up and he was active in the guard. All depends if Nog gets the takedown and can be effective. I don't think so.
