Herschel Walker rumored to make MMA debut versus Greg Nagy at Strikeforce Miami
With just three weeks remaining until his professional MMA debut 1982 Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker has an opponent. Rage in the Cage veteran Greg Nagy 1-1 is expected to meet Walker as part of the televised portion of Strikeforce’s next event on Showtime on January 30th.

Multiple sources close to the event have informed ULTMMA.com (www.ultmma.com) of the likely match-up.

Well, i was not exactly expecting him to fight Bigfoot so whatever.

I'll be perfectly cool with it as long as a legitimate fight(ie: Hieron-Riggs) isn't kept off of TV.

But if it does squeeze a good fight then it's bogus.

We have a huge double standard. When Japan does it, it's cute and part of the show, but when Strikeforce and the UFC do this, it's some crime. Just accept MMA will have a freakshow element at any and all levels. Roll with it.

If SF was so damn interested in side shows why didn't they sign Kimbo. He wouldn't have said no to the money.

They tried to get him. MMA has always had pro-wrestlers, fat guys, weirdos and retired athletes involved with it. I really don't think it takes anything away from what Anderson Silva and GSP do.

the only freak show element regarding Walker is his age. It does taint Walker in a big way, but if this was 10 years ago this would be a ground breaking event.

s'true. The guy is in freakish shape and has been practicing matrtial arts for over 20 years or something. Age and inexperience are his biggest flaws but the other tools seem okay.

They should set up a fight with a healthy Jose Canseco, considering how well he did with a blown knee.

I dont know what kind of skills Hershel has but he does look like he is in good shape. He hopefully will have a good showing for himself.
