No doubt, this fight is flying way below the radar. People hate on this card, but this fight has the makings.

Yep, looking forward to this one big time. I picked JDS but I'm not very confident.

You should be. Cigano is about to run through the UFC HW division.

I wouldn't go that far. He's looked good but his biggest fight thus far has been against Werdum. If he beats Yvel hopefully Joe Silva will give JDS a top 10 opponent.

Farmer do you realize this dude fights around 240, isn't a wrestler or even a black belt in BJJ and is a striker at HW in a era where that is all but extinct? He is good but won't be running through anything. I wouldn't be surprised to see Yvel send him to the dead zone.

Anyway these kinds of fights are categorically never fire works as they entirely hinge on one big shot middle of the first.

Dos Santos is legit bro, but with the big wrestlers in that division it'll be tough, I still think he has a good shot, he also trains his bjj now with Maia.

And Yvel is actually a pretty good fighter, def striker so....

I know he is legit, but against 260 pound blankets/black belts, who all also have one shot KO power, I can't see him walking through too many for too long.

Mir, Gonzaga and Nelson are three super high level BJJ blackbelts with one punch power and the ability to land it. Carwin and Lesnar are two wrestlers with the ability to land it. Is Dos Santos really that fluid and elusive to avoid taking any shots even if he could keep fights with those guys standing? I don't see his movements as very fluid. JDS is fast for the division though, hand wise.

Rogers has demonstrated pretty refined technique in the last year or so and is getting better standing all the time, surprised you think this guy is so legit and him not the case when he is actually bigger and shown at least some ground skills in his short fight with Fedor.

He showed he can move and hold down Fedor who is like what, 40 lbs lighter, for 20 seconds.

Dos Santos would decapitate Rogers

Possibly, but we haven't seen him fight anyone like him either. Werdum, while not terrible standing as he showed against Gonzaga late in their fight, isn't explosive and was fat in the Dos Santos fight, Struve isn't a striker at all and is super young, and Mirko is a shell of his former self.

I don't think we have seen him take on somone like Rogers or as good as Rogers standing.

JDS is super explosive for this division. He's one of its best athletes.

But JDS will be in trouble against any grappler. Cain, Shane, Mir and Brock would abuse him on the ground, but none of them should try to stand with him -- I think his stand-up is that good.

Struve does have stand-up by the way. He started out as a kickboxer. He's Dutch for heaven's sake. He's just learned to be good off his back since everyone takes him down because of his reach.

And if he beat Crocop with ground and pound or at least mixed it up, then yes I would not credit his stand-up that much, but he basically played into Crocop's strength and totally outclassed him without kneeing him in the balls. Impressive since not too many heavyweights would attempt that.

Is that picture Anderson Silva being choked by Jon Fitch? If so, it makes me think GSP may have a chance.

He may not be able to beat Brock and I'd say its a toss up if Cain turns it into a wrestling match. Mir may also beat him too. But Carwin, Gonzaga, Yvel, Duffee, Couture, Kongo, Nelson, etc all lose to JDS.

Honestly, we haven't seen enough of JDS to really know how good he is. Plenty of HWs would look good against Struve, Mirko is all but retired, and he KO'd Werdum in the first...I think tonight we will find out a lot about how good JDS is.

Yvel isn't a top ten HW and isn't a wrestler, so beating him doesn't answer the real questions.

Farmer is really setting the expectations for JDS astronomically high here. This has gone beyond fanboyism into concerns farmer may be carrying JDS child. Go easy on the koolaid bro, I really think you've had enough.

"He might lose to brock or cain, but he destroys everyone else on earth" Really now? All that based on his fast hands?
