Jay Hieron vs. Joe Riggs in the works for January 30th Strikeforce show

Huh, I thought Coker said that card was filled, and thus did not expect Lawler to be on it.

wait, is Noons Evangelista and Heiron Riggs both to be on this card?

If so that is 6 notable fights, which is one more then the standard.

Lawler is not going to be on the card because his wife is due around the time of the event. Word is Lawler was plenty butthurt about his fight being cancelled on the last card.

Riggs-Hieron makes sense. Hieron should take it.

What a crime it would be if this or the Noons fight would be pushed to the prelims because they want Herschel Walker on the main card....

Of course the Herschel Walker fight by far deserves to be left off....but it won't be....

I have a feeling they will put the Noons vs Evangelista fight on the prelim.

Then they should just have Noons main event the Challengers card the week before. It would be better than not watching him fight at all. Strikeforce roster is getting big enough to where they are going to have to start putting fighters that arent wikipedia red names on prelims and people are really going to want to see these fights. They need to cut a deal with HDnet or atleast show the fights on the website after the event.

Pretty sure the Challenger's card is the night b4, and yes if the choice is prelims non tv or Challenger series, it's a no brainer. And agree, put the prelims on the web and I'm cool.

And no doubt it's rediculous that Herschel will get the nod over a very legitimate fight, which he will.

Scheduling six fights so that one might ultimately get bumped to the preliminary card is a chance I'd take considering it is very very likely one or more of these fighters will get injured before hand and not be able to fight anyway. It is more likely four or less of these fights actually happen as reported here than this actually go down as planned with Noons or someone on the undercard.
