He has looked good, but he hasn't proven shit at 170. GSP just kicked his ass. His last win at 170 was vs Renzo Gracie in July of 05 (I think it was 170).

Nope, his fight with Renzo was in the 185lb range. His last win in welterweight was against Hughes in 2004.

People overreact after the see a good performance and forget about the past.

Farmer i still believe he would probably be the favorite against any1 at 170 except GSP. He at worst would be even with Alves and Fitch and maybe Kos but he would probably be the favorite.

BJ has lost to a prime Hughes and GSP twice at WW, the BJ fighting right now is much better than the one who last lost to Hughes, some people think about the dsitant past to much.

What I mean to say is, I think Penn would beat up everyone at WW outside of GSP, and I think he would do it without much trouble. Hardy is the new #1 contender and I just think Penn would beat Hardy's ass. JMO I agree that he hasn't proven shit lately but he did win a round with GSP, which is more than what the top WWs have done recently.
