| Not exactly the same..Sherk was actually done.
I can see why he made the call though. Awaad's awkward fall, followed by that..i can see it. I think he was alright though.

| I need primetime's opinion on that rickles saad fight. Saad kind did look ko'd but if he is allowed to just lay out mid cage all night because the bell rang...... I don't know.

Newton isnt as agressive as he was in the Mo fight. Amazing what a difference his opponent keeping his hands up makes.

| Bellator, brought to you by miller light and chuck liddel.
For real though, spike does good on bellator with their sponsors. Miller light, directv, iron man 3 d&bs and everlast. Not shabby.
Thi was another good bfc too. Bellator in 2013 is one of the best shows on tv.

I was surprised that it was stopped but I fully blame Awad for this. Looked to me like he was catching his breath and gathering himself before getting up. But being at home in a living room we don't get to see and hear exactly what the ref does when he has to make that instant decision. Awad made no movement to stand or find his corner. I remember seeing the ref looking at Awad as he was walking Rickels away. He was on wobbly legs when he was protesting the stoppage. Everything I read now makes it seem like it was a good stoppage. Waugh did not believe Awad was in a position to continue and waved the fight from there, guess he didn't see him move. Then I also read this: Referee Troy Waugh instructed Awad to rise and when he didn’t, declared a TKO. Awad protested the stoppage but did not deny he was knocked down and didn’t rise, the issue of the call being made after the round being the supposed controversy. With the referee’s primary job being to protect the fighter, not to create an exciting fight the stoppage seems legitimate if not popular. As I mentioned, the night wasn't without it's controversy. Dave "The Caveman" Rickels showed his durability in the lightweight finals against Saad Awad, getting taken down a few times in the first two rounds, and then coming back to land a solid right hand in a vicious exchange between the two, dropping Awad to the canvas at approximately the same time as the bell rang to signify the end of the round. Awad however remained on the canvas for an additional 10 seconds or so, looking up and seeming conscious but not showing any signs of getting to his feet or corner. The referee analyzed the fighter and waited for a reaction, but ultimately called the fight to a stop via TKO. Awad protested slightly but it was too late

| As someone who goes to multiple metal shows per month I have no idea what that is. Maybe he listens to faggier bands that high schoolers are into | |

he's a hardcore fan...which in it's purest form is different from metal i suppose. I've seen people do that at hardcore shows, just not as exaggerated.

| Hcore and metal shows have lots of crossover, sometimes, but really, out here 50 miles is all it takes for the definition to change. | |

Yeah kind of crazy the number of guys missing weight yesterday. I'm just glad the main even is able to go on and the title is on the line. I'm sure it will be another entertaining fight for Curran. I hope Tom is able to get the win.
