No kingdom can be secured otherwise than by arming the people. The possession of arms is the distinction between a freeman and a slave.

Are we at last brought to such a humiliating and debasing degradation, that we cannot be trusted with arms for our own defense? Where is the difference between having our arms in our own possession and under our own direction, and having them under the management of Congress? If our defense be the *real* object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands?

That the said Constitution shall never be construed toauthorize Congress to infringe the just liberty of the press or the rights of conscience; or to prevent the people of the United states who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms...

for those who say only police and government agents need guns so they can protect us...

quotes from the 1770's and 1780's are every bit as relevant today as they were back then

what about the 25 or so executive orders that were pro gun control that he passed? Does that not count. Does it not count that he has shown full support to Diane Feinstein's proposed gun bans which fortunately were voted down in the House?

What can I say?
Some people understand the importance of history, as time and time again it has repeated itself.
Others don't learn from history, make the same mistakes, and pay the price.
Yea but the Constitution and Bill of Rights shouldn't even matter anymore. Because it's old...
we should just scrap it and let it be known the America is now a fascist authoritarian state where the so called elected leaders are bought and paid for by the same mega-banks, corporations, and their lobbyists that bought off the executive branch years and years ago.
Don't stand up for your rights. Just let them incrementally disappear. Good call guys!

Gun control advocate threatens to ‘shoot and kill’ recall activists
bizpacreview.com November 16, 2013
An apparent gun control supporter threatened to “go home and get a gun and come back and kill” a group of Second Amendment activists seeking signatures on a recall petition against Colorado Sen. Evie Hudak.
After September’s recall of Colorado Sen. Angela Giron and Senate President John Morse over their anti-gun stance, a group called Recall Hudak Too is trying to extend its success by tossing Hudak out of office, according to Capitol City Project.
While collecting signatures in front of the public library in Arvada, Colo., a man riding by on a bicycle can be heard to say, “I’m going to go home and get a gun and come back and kill you m****r f****rs. Would you like that?”
Hudak is best known for her insensitive questioning of rape victim Amanda Collins during Senate Judiciary Committee hearings before the state passed highly restrictive gun control measures.
After describing Collins’ testimony “unsettling,” she went on to attack it.
You said that you were a martial arts student, I mean person, experienced in Tae Kwon Do, and yet because this individual was so large, was able to overcome you even with your skills, and chances are that if you had had a gun, then he would have been able to get that from you and possibly use it against you,” and then added that statistics weren’t on her side.
Respectfully senator, you weren’t there,” Collins replied. “Had I been carrying concealed, he wouldn’t have known I had my weapon; and I was there. I know without a doubt in my mind at some point I would’ve been able to stop my attack by using my firearm.

That he says it's bullshit people want guns for protection and that they should get banned. With everything that's happening in the States I wouldn't want to give up my guns either.

i can only think you're on about the stuff with the police in missouri and new york but i couldn't fathom how being armed would've been helpful to either victim.
the two nyc police who were killed were armed, but if you're ambushed at random you probably don't have time to even think about drawing your weapon.

It's only going to get worse. You need to have protection at home.

Do you think carrying a gun makes it less likely or more likely that you'll be shot at by police?
