- UFC's President Dana White has launched a vicious assault on Bob Arum, the CEO of Top Rank. During an interview with MMAFighting.com, White discussed the success of the September 15th HBO pay-per-view in Las Vegas, with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs. Sergio Martinez in the main event. Not long after he discussed the Chavez-Martinez card, he launched into a full blown verbal assault on Arum directly. White appeared to get further annoyed after being questioned about Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez going head to head with a UFC event on December 8th.
“I love the sport of boxing and I watched, I bought the [Julio Cesar] Chavez fight. Umm… so, yeah, I mean, I’m happy for them. Listen, whenever boxing does good things and they pull killer pay-per-view. I’m always watching to see what they do on pay-per-view and I’m not, ‘those f**ers.....they did this much!’ I’m happy for them. I want to see combat sports do better. I want to see boxing pull bigger numbers. I’m not Bob Arum, that crusty d*ck. You know what I mean?
"I’m not out there smashing everything that we do and saying negative stuff about boxing. Boxing’s f***ing great, it’s an incredible sport. I wouldn’t be sitting here right now if it wasn’t for the sport of boxing, you know? I’m not going to play Bob Arum’s little p*ssy game. F*** him.”
“That’s what they do, they went head-to-head the same night on TV. They’re crazy. Remember when Don King, Bob Arum used to go pay-per-view the same night? I know..I know...I get it. They took the same night we’re on. Bob’s a d*ck. The guy is a d*ck. Seriously. He’s just a… he’s a f***ing, you know, it’s like the guy can’t....for some reason he hates the fact that this sport is doing well. Other guys are able to make money. Other athletes are able to perform and f***ing do great things. For some reason, that bothers that old bastard. You know what I mean? F*** him.” http://www.boxingscene.com/ufcs-dana-white-launches-vicious-assault-on-bob-arum--57627 |

- UFC President Dana White has lashed out at Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, over the making the fourth fight between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez. White, who admits he bet money on Marquez, told 5th Round that Pacquiao's career was placed in jeopardy by putting him back in the ring with the opponent who gave him the most trouble.
If it was White's decision, he would have matched Pacquiao with Timothy Bradley, who won a controversial decision over the Filipino star in June. He predicts Pacquiao would have knocked Bradley out and then placed himself in position for Floyd Mayweather Jr. or another major fight.
“I’m the biggest Manny Pacquiao fan ever, I bet on Marquez,” White revealed Saturday night. “Dumbest fight in history. Bob Arum is a moron. You don’t take that fight, you idiot. Why would you do that fight? It’s all about the money, that’s why.
“That was a money fight, that’s what that fight was done for. [Pacquiao] should have fought [Timothy] Bradley. Bradley’s the fight they should have done. He would have knocked Bradley out, he would have got his belt back and now he’s back in the position he should have been in. [Pacquiao's] one of the best fighters in the world. He goes out and fights Marquez again? Bob Arum is the dumbest promoter in the history of the world.” http://www.boxingscene.com/dana-white-lashes-out-arum-over-pacquiao-marquez--60550To be fair on Arum it was Pacquiao who choose Marquez. |

| white is becoming more like arum than he realises if he's complaining about manny being given a tougher opponent than he could've had.
one of the big reasons MMA started pinching fans from boxing was the UFC's willingness to make the best matchups and give fans the fights they want to see. this comment might indicate danas attitude is changing in that respect. | |
