| I hate it! Surprise, surprise. It makes no sense for Anderson to sit on the sideline for what could be a year before fighting again. Especially when there are worthy challengers in your division right now. Looks like this nightmare might come true. | |

| Can't say he is "ducking" Weidman, but he has made it very clear he doesn't want to fight him, not right now anyways. | |

I dont mind if he doesnt want to fight weidman right now but drop this GSP shit. That fight makes zero sense and I really have little interest in seeing it personally.

| I still wanna see GSP beat his ass, but we need to wait and see if GSP comes back his old self. Anderson in the mean time has a worthy opponent in Weidman. | |

| Spider beating GSP does nothing. No need for the fight. | |

Maybe u are right but I just dont see it. I thought the Chael rematch was bigger than a GSP fight.

| I think that only in the social/self promotion world is Sonnen bigger than GSP, in MMA, he is laser light years back behind GSP. | |

Not true. If GSP wins then he is the undisputed P4P king and in the argument for GOAT. |

| Then that means if Anderson wins he is p4p and goat. I know it means something for GSP. Just saying it goes both ways. Ya dig? | |

No. Anderson Silva is the much bigger man. Beating someone smaller than you isn't as great as beating someone bigger than you. |

| Yeah.. You contradict yourself if you say GSP would be the goat by beating Anderson. It has to go both ways. | |

I never said GSP would be the GOAT. I said he would be in the discussion. GSP beating Anderson is much more impressive than Anderson beating GSP. |

Anderson has all the advantages, he should win the fight, he probably would win the fight. GSP winning would be far more impressive IMO. It's also far less likely IMO. I don't think you can call it a lose-lose for Anderson because he would have all the advantages in the fight. But he certainly has less to gain.

Tim I agree Spider calling out GSP is kind of weak, bigger guy calling out the smaller guy and all. And I agree it would not do a ton for his legacy if he were to win. But it would be a huge fight. Tons of interest.

| If it's a catchweight down the middle, and GSP does it how he wants and gets up to 195 or whatever, then Anderson his also gonna have to be a little smaller version come fight time then his 220 or whatever MW self, it starts to become relative. Though it is still a slightly, slightly bigger accomplishment for GSP in the end. But let's be honest here, that doesn't mean it would not be probably the greatest MMA victory of Silva's career as well, maybe the Hendo win is bigger, maybe. The winner is GOAT of everything. | |

But it would be a huge fight. Tons of interest. Well this situation is different. You can't really say he is calling him out. He has been asked about this fight over and over for years now. People have been pressuring both fighters to have this fight for years now. GSP has spoken about this fight many times over the years.
