On extremely short notice Chael isn't a terrible option. Deserving or not the twitter war hypes that fight up, enough for casuals and whatnot. But ignoring who deserves and who doesn't in this situation how does Chael win this fight? Chael holding Jon down for 25 minutes is about 100 times less likely as Chael holding Anderson down for 25 minutes. I would be genuinely surprised if Chael could take Jones down one time. I don't see the downside here to just stepping up for the sake of being a professional, being a champion, and being a man?

His bad business cost him and a lot of other people today. I wonder how many more people Jones lost today? People are already saying they will stream his ppvs, which again is ones costing himself and others.

Damage control is the only term that comes to mind here. They didn't have a whole lot of choice just over a week before the event that didn't carry much star power when one main event fighter has to pull out with injury and the other one refuses to take part in the card on those grounds.

We've seen Jackson fuck up main events before, even as recently as the last six months. I don't think they saw this coming because Greg Jackson could give a shit about image, that much is obvious.

MMA needs more guys with this level of class, and less trash. This thing with Jones is bad for the sport. He isn't bigger than MMA.

Which is why they had to scrap the whole thing. Didn't they just have a show recently where they refunded tickets because the main event got scrapped due to injuries?
