Bar Hari Charged With 'Attempted Manslaughter' In Netherlands

Kickboxing superstar Badr Hari is in more trouble with the law. After getting arrested for an alleged assault at a popular Amsterdam music event, he has been charged with 'attempted manslaughter'. Inside Kickboxing has the news:

Badr Hari is facing a possible attempted manslaughter charge following an appearance in front of an Amsterdam magistrate today.

He is alleged to have taken part in an assault on a reveller at a rave in Amsterdam Arena earlier this month, before going on holiday with his girlfriend Estelle Gullit, estranged wife of the Dutch footballing icon Ruud Gullit.

Having returned from holiday this week Hari handed himself in to police Wednesday night and was arrested on doing so. He has been detained in custody since then and today his remand was extended by the magistrates, who gave police permission to hold him for two weeks.

According to the complainant, Hari was one of three men that assaulted him at the event and was the one that stomped on his ankle, which snapped it in half. Our own Fraser Coffeen has been keeping us apprised of the events up until now, which you can read about in the links below.

Badr Hari Admits Guilt In Attack, Now In Prison

More news is coming in regarding the legal troubles of Badr Hari, and it's not good. For the past few months, Hari has been dealing with questions surrounding an attack in the Amsterdam ArenA that left the victim seriously injured, possibly permanently. Hari has been linked to the attack, and was recently named the prime suspect in the case.

Now, Badr Hari has turned himself in to the Amsterdam police and has admitted guilt in the attack. Badr has stated that he did indeed strike the victim, and was joined in the attack by others.

As a result of this confession, Hari is currently in jail in Amsterdam, where he is in solitary confinement. Reports indicate that he is allowed to read newspapers and watch television, but is currently not allowed access to those outside of the jail. No word yet on when he will appear in court.

This is not the first time Hari has been implicated in an attack, as he was also questioned in an Amsterdam nightclub attack in 2010, though he ended up avoiding serious legal trouble in that instance.

Without court details yet known, it's hard to say exactly what the future holds for Hari. One thing we know is this - Badr Hari is guilty of this assault. That's no longer a matter of speculation. The big question now becomes just how big of an impact will this have on his future, and when, if ever, he will return to the ring.

Things have been up-in-the-air for the bad boy, Badr Hari, as he has been in jail awaiting sentencing for quite a while now. It appears that the courts have decided what to do with him, and if you are a Badr Hari fan, it does not look good for him right now. The charges to be levied against the former K-1 fighter who recently attempted to switch gears to professional Boxing before returning to the Kickboxing ring in May is that of Attempted Manslaughter.

If you are wondering about the kind of evidence they have against him, they have DNA evidence from a towel that they found and there are also nine open cases against Badr Hari right now. Of course, the most serious is the Attempted Manslaughter of Koen Everink in July, and it looks like with the evidence that they have and his past history, things might be looking bleak for Hari. The court is going to attempt to put Hari away for ten years, which would effectively mean the end of Badr Hari's career as a Kickboxer, Boxer or anything else in the world of combat sports.

Sounds like justice is gonna KO hari for a while.
