I wouldn't say Minnesota is a bad team. It wasn't long ago we were in the NFC Championship during bounty-gate. We have a second year QB who has second year QB problems, our star reciever is inactive with an achilles injury and a defensive secondary in the middle of a reboot.

Outside when one of the greatest qbs ever stopped in for a year or 2 the Vikings have been bad since like 00 with moss and carter.

if you bring up jim brown i'll turn a blind eye but nobody else belongs on the same plane as barry sanders.

I wouldn't even go there if I were you. Since the Texans got back into the league the Vikings have won more playoff games than the Texans have even been in, and the only reason they got to go last year was due to Peyton Manning not being in the division.

Not even OJ Simpson, Walter Payton, Emmett Smith, Curtis Martin, Erick Dickerson and Tony Dorsett?

I don't argue that the Texans have ever been great until now. The playoff run this year and last year (more injuries than any team ever) will prove me correct.

No, this post was intended for Farmer. I was replying to you asking whether Dorsett, Dickerson, Martin, Smith, Payton, etc etc etc deserved to be in the same discussion as Sanders.

i don't think martin or smith belong in the same conversation rhough.

Smith is the all time leading rusher, he deserves to be in any discussion pertaining to pure running backs. Martin had his career cut short by his knee blowing out on him but he was on pace to move up the list (he was like 1100 yards behind Barry Sanders when he had to retire).

smith & sanders career were pretty much at exactly the same time. sanders was unfortunate to play in detroit, smith was lucky to be drafted by dallas.

sanders isn't just the best running back i've ever seen, he was the best player i've ever seen. give him stepnoski, newton, erik williams & larry allen to run behind and watch what happens. my mans averaging 10 yards a carry.

I was a Smith fan growing up and Barry is twice the back he ever was.

If they had 24/7 sports coverage around back then like they do Sanders would have been getting just as much shit as CJ2K has over the last 2 years for dancing around and looking for the home run every play instead of just taking what's there

He can dance all he wants. He averaged 100 yards a game and 5 yards per carry when Det had little around him. He was option 1, 2, and 4.

Yes but the same line that Emmett was running behind was also letting Aikman get hammered every year. Don't try and discredit Smith like he had the perfect blocks every step of the way. At some point you have to look at a 15 year career that yielded more yards than anyone else in history at the position, including Sanders. I also feel that Walter Payton was a better football player than Sanders was, and that's coming from a life long Vikings fan.

So many haters out there. They are 1 game out of division and wild card. Yea, still plenty of hope.

I understand the standings were somewhat cose, but I like the Giants & Redskins over the Cowboys. Hard to make the playoffs when you're the 3rd best team in your division and already lost 6 games.

I still think Dallas is better then Washington. Not sure NY will lose enough though. Dallas plays Washington the last game of the season so I'm fine if it comes down to that game.

i wasn't trying to discredit smith, but sanders was a lot better imo.

there's a very strong possibility sanders holds the all time rushing record instead if he doesn't retire while still at the top of his game.
