Makes sense, especially if Nate wins. I thought it was already dubbed #1 contender. Edgar got the rematch, Shwotime decided to get surgery so it basically left just this fight.
And Nate has no business fighting for the title. He is not far removed from a 3-5 streak. He went 2-2 in 2011. Beating Gomi, Cerrone and Miller is more than worthy of a shot. I want to see some fresh blood fighting for the title not more rematches, Pettis, Diaz, Alvarez or Melendez. |

| To be fair though he hasn't lost at 155 since he lost a disputed fight to Maynard. |

But we can't ignore what he did at 170.

But we can't ignore what he did at 170. How does what he did at 170 effect his title chances at 155? |

| For once I agree with Freak. What he did at 170 means jack shit at 155. | |

| It absolutely does. He shouldn't have moved weight classes if he was going to get his ass beat. | |

I think that's silly. If BJ Penn moved back to 155 I would not complain if he got an immediate title shot even though he lost his last fight at 170. |

Nate has been beating top Lightweights, what you have to do to be a lightweight contender. What he did at welterweight has very little significance to being a lightweight contender.

Yes because show time or miller should have the next shot. Penn is 0-3 in his last 3.

| Lay off the crackpipe, Farmer. Penn is 1-1-1 in his last three fights. Technically should be 2-1 in his last three at Lightweight. | |

| Yeah Nate's fights at Welterweight have nothing to do with his Lightweight run at all. |

| Penn has done more than enough to get another title shot at 155 whenever he wants it. He still sells and is the 155 GOAT. He could still on his best day beat any LW. |

| Nate's wins and competitiveness at WW plays a factor in 155. His losses and anything negative you saw does not....because I fucking said so. Also you must count the SD loss to Maynard as a W. Because he won that fight, take my word for it. | |

| Miller just lost to Bendo. If Bendo is still champ then Miller shouldn't get the title shot. |

And the only reason Miller didn't get his shot before fighting Bendo was because of two instant rematches.

And the only reason Miller didn't get his shot before fighting Bendo was because of two instant rematches. That has nothing to do with the fact that Bendo dominated him. Anyway, he has never beaten a top 10 fighter. He has never deserved a title shot. |
