He said yes. Maybe Bigfoot turned it down.

He said yes. Maybe Bigfoot turned it down. How about Werdum or Big Nog? they would be ahead of Nelson also. |

| i think guys like Werdum and Bigfoot were probably offered the bout, but they have a little more to lose fighting a guy like Velasquez on a months notice. Cain requires a full camp..you can't go from training for Russow and Country respectively to rushing a camp for Cain Velasquez. Nelson does not have much to lose right now. He's lost every fight with top HW's he's ever been in and he's already considered on the outside looking in and for stepping in, he probably won't get released or slip too far in the rankings should he lose.
This is labled a #1 contender bout with the expectation that Cain wins. If Nelson wins, he won't get the bout against either JDS or Mir whom he both fought recently to zero success. Cain is a pretty safe bet here

| The best way to effectively kill Mark Hunt's recent run would be a fight with Cain | |

Not if Cain fought stupid and stood with him. What do we know about Cain? His striking is good, but not great. He has been KOed and dropped in other fights. He is willing to stand. He would dominate most HWs with his wrestling.

| WEAK
Cain vs Hunt, Werdum, Big Foot would all make sense
this makes no sense, not with a #1 contender attached to it, thatsa just treating the fans like we are stupid
