- The R7 Portal, a respectable communication medium owned by Rede Record, the second biggest TV network in Brazil, has shot themselves in the foot.
Many specialized MMA websites, and in addition, to the fans who anxiously waited for the results of the show that happens every Sunday on Globo, which debuted yesterday, March 25th were disgusted by a written piece titled "R7 anticipates the four finalists in the new MMA reality TV program from Globo; find out who the winners are."
MMA Space respects R7 and their articles, however, we believe that this attitude was very unfortunate, hurting thousands of their readers that will watch the reality show of their competitor, us included, who now have knowledge of the quarterfinal matches. It's like waiting in line for a movie and someone mentions that "the good guy dies in the end."

| every TUF has multiple guys who land in the UFC whether they belong there or not. Win on the finale against another TUF guy, get another fight..past few years, most don't belong. Don't be so sensitive about your reality show, bob. | |

| King's mentality towards TUF almosts reminds of the orginal days where everyone had the mindset(including myself) that every tuffer was garbage and just made it into the UFC because they were on some gay reality show. Of course Forrest, Rashad, Diego, and Kos shot this theory dead in the water. Prior to TUF: Live and TUF: Brazil, King's opinion is completly understandable. After Season two only TUF 5, TUF: Heavyweight, and just the last TUF season produced any talent worth noting.
TUF: Live and TUF: Brazil however are quite different then previous seasons because:
-The UFC wanted to make exciting fights and inpress Fox, so they went out and actualy found some very high level talent.
-The live format puts more emphasis of the fighter's actually ability then thier crazy antics.
- Live and Brazil both feature FWs and LWs, which have been always known to have a heavy talent pool.
-Its the very first season in Brazil so they got to choose from the creme da la creme of top level fighters who probably couldn't have made it on TUF in the past because they didn't speak English.

That might have been your attitude back then. i actually liked TUF in those days because they did produce better than average talent and that was the legitimate goal of the show, and the UFC needed it and it made sense. Wasnt so canned back then...nowadays, the criticism that they got in the early days is warranted if directed at TUF for the past 5-6 seasons. The talent is average to flat out sucks. The reality show format while always kind of gay, is still gay. The beefs between the coaches are canned and if there is any hint of real beef, They go amps to 11 on exaggerating it(Faber-Cruz, ESPECIALLY Page-Shad)...and most of all...the UFC flat out just does not need the stupid show anymore. They put on enough shows where they don't need to drag out some mainly hollywood influenced process where they have 2-3 OK fighters on the show surrounded by complete scrubs. They can sign the good guys outright and have slots for them...and they KNOW who those guys are. The show only exist now to build up a fight between the two coaches..but in the process they usually manage to cheapen bouts like Rampage-Rashad by placing them in situations where it's obvious they were told to act a certain way and be at eachothers throats, completely insincere and no place in MMA...see opening segment of the Page-Shad season. Also, it's the bottom line, money..and it's seen as plus that they can get an average fighter and then tag him with this "Ultimate Fighter" title and make him seem like something special to the cult that ate this shit every week. People think i hate just to hate because i don't like reality shows in MMA...but i can't stress enough that i used to think the show was OK and atleast served a purpose. It no longer does that...the talent level has been dwindling for years, but the show officially jumped the shark in the Page/Shad/Kimbo season. That is where it became...pretty much fake. I somewhat enjoyed the USA-UK season though the talent was whack.
