Dear Mario,
Apparently you were lying when you said money wasn't the only factor, you also wanted to win. Don't get me wrong, we want you in Houston...we don't necessarily NEED you...but we do want you. The difference between Houston and Buffalo is that Houston is on the come up, Buffalo is forever on the down low. We will continue winning and making the playoffs while you play in the freezing cold weather...outdoors. But hey, at least your season won't be as long now. You might even make it through a season without injury now.
The fact is, your sack numbers have gotten worse every year since 2007, and our defense was just fine after you went down for the season last year. Like I said, we don't need you.
And to your new team, thanks for pushing the salary for pass rushing defensive ends to even more ridiculous levels. Where does it end? Honestly, I seriously doubt anyone else was going to throw Super Mario 50 million guaranteed. I know you live in the fucking asshole of the earth so you have to overpay to get any free agents to come to your team...but damn.
Sincerely,
Excited for the next year Texans Fan

As a Texans fan, it was obvious it was coming. The defense proved they could be elite without him. He was a little out of position anyway. No way Houston was willing to give anything close to what Buffalo and for some crazy ass reason they were, then there wasn't cap room. Good luck in Buffalo. But a warning to Buffalo fan(s), he's got one move and a part time motor. He may be one of the most freakish athletes ever though. It kind offsets things.

safe to say
DAMN WHAT AN OVERRATED DRAFT CLASS 2006 WAS
1. Mario Williams 2. Reggie Bush 3.Vince Young 4. D'Brickashaw Ferguson 5. A.J. Hawk 6. Vernon Davis 7. Michael Huff 8. Donte Whitner 9. Ernie Sims 10. Matt Leinhart
Only 2 players on there you could consider big time players is AJ Hawk and Vernon Davis imo.
Williams was nice but he was more Dan Wilkinson than D Ware, Ferguson was adequate, Bush is what he is (a fast weakling) and Sims is a journey man.

Brick and Hawk are both good players.
Johnathan Joseph, Antonio Cromartie, & Haloti Ngata were all first rounders and all studs.

Yeah we knew it was coming, but then with the Texans cutting players recently and apparently not making 3/5 of their offensive lineman a priority, it almost looked like they were gonna try to keep Mario. Personally, I'd rather keep our O-line intact than sign a 4-3 defensive end and play him out of position.
Maybe Mario just didn't want to play in a 3-4, but in 5 games in Wade's system, Mario had 5.5 sacks...he may have been a great outside linebacker.
Oh well, Mario will now fade into obscurity because no-one gives a shit about the Bills. At least he'll do it comfortably.
