I love Forrest Gump, but definitely felt the honors should have went to Pulp Fiction or the Shank.

Gump was such a HUGE hit though as well as being critically acclaimed. It was not losing that year.

Gump was a great great movie. Deserving IMO.

That was a stacked year. Gump wasn't my best that year, but it's tough to say it wasn't a deserving film, it was an overall fantastic movie.

Forrest Gump is fantastic. Tom Hanks did an incredible job.

Its not even close. Shawshank is one of the greatest movies ever made, and Pulp Fiction is Tarentino's best work. Both films blow Forrest Gump 500 miles out of the water. Forrest Gump is typical Oscar bait, and it winning best picture is the biggest robbery in the history of the Oscars

Shawshank is boring and Pulp Fiction is overrated.

I don't think most people would take issue with how anyone ranks those 3 movies. However you can't go all "Forrest Gump sucks" and expect people to roll with that. That's just crazy talk. Maybe you consider it to be the 3rd best movie of that group but how can you say that movie sucks?

I don't think Forrest Gump is a great movie by any means. Its an ok film that I wouldn't have even nominated for Best Picture to begin with

Well you are already upgrading it to "OK" from "Forrest Gump Sucks"(exact words). Seems like you are more bitter/disappointed about it beating out superior movies(in your opinion).

I'll put it to you this way. I've seen Forrest Gump and I'll never have any desire to watch it again for the rest of my life
