| It just makes the pre-fight line look even more LOL. Can you beleive the line to this fight was identical to the fight with BJ Penn? He was clearly outclassed by BJ but that obviously wasn't the case last night. He gained some respect back last night, well from me anyways. He did break the golden rule of a post fight interview. NEVA EVA EVA talk about ANY injury. Doesn't matter if you lost a lung and 2 kidneys during camp. You cannot mention that in the cage. But Diego showed he is still game. Also LOL at the walkout with a cross. This crazy bastard has epic LOL entrances. | |

| Diego showed exactly what makes him dangerous last night...his ability to put opponents in uncomfortable spots and make the fight ugly. Even when Ellenberger was winning the fight (first 2 rounds), there were moments where Diego clipped him and forced him to get on his bicycle to recover a bit. The last round was just awesome heart and conditioning. Ellenberger needs to figure out his cardio issues if he is going to ever seriously compete for the belt. Condit will be smarter if they fight again and not test his power by standing in the pocket like in the first fight. | |

| Personally I think Jake experienced an adrenaline dump in the 2nd round. I think he had some nerves fighting in his home town and being a big favorite to win the fight. I do think Jake showed alot of heart at the end of round 3, I was worried at one point when Diego landed some decent shots and Jake seemed to flatten out a little bit for a brief moment. There were definitely a couple of points in that fight where Diego landed a shot that put Jake in reverse. Overall I think both showed heart when being in tough positions. I think it was a good experience for Jake. | |

| I totally agree. Jake showed a ton of heart surviving that third round and the fact that he got back to his feet and threw a few punches from a neutral position in the closing seconds of the third round may have saved him a 10-8, at least it did imo. I have always like Ellenberger, just wish he could keep his first round pace up for longer. | |

| jake didnt look as agressive last night as he has in previous fights, neither did diego. it seemd as diego was expectin a 5 rd fight n jake was just being cautious n tryin to find the right shots. good fight n good dec. diego is now 1-3(in the fans eyes) since his titlle fight with bj, who should be next for him now | |

Rick Story sounds about right to me. Mike Peirce showed heart vs Kos and could be a fight for Diego. Mike Pyle and Average Joe are some other options out there.

| Gotta disagree, Diego didn't win anything last night other then a couple a minutes of the third round. He was outclassed and schooled on the feet. He makes good strikers look great and if he cannot make things ugly he becomes a punching bag. Same old same old. He wasn't gonna win a 5 round fight. | |

I wouldn't say that with any kind of certainty. While I would personally agree that Jake would have got it together and still won the fight. You can't deny that Deigo was still trucking on and was going to continue to be game. All pre-fight talk and looking at the odds it was assumed that Jake was going to dominate.

| Diego is a trucker, but it takes something landing in a fury from him, which is always possible. He just hasn't looked good to me in a long time and that didn't change last night. IMO Jake dominated all but those last few minutes where he found himself in the only bad spot for that fight, front then back mounted, and he still tossed off and had Diego on reversed out of it. | |

| i thought diego was gonna finish him there in the 3rd when he had him pinned against the cage throwin punches. . But he was outclassed on the feet for the majority of the fight. Diego has never been as good since he became a striker. Remember when he came off tuf all he did was take guys down and viciously ground n pound them? He's never been as effective since he abandoned that style of fighting. | |

I agree. His striking always seems the same, lunging 1 2 combo, lunging hook, lunge, get punched in the face.

I didn't see the same domination personally. Early on Jake was dominating I think Jake dominated for about 4 min of the fight. While he was still getting the best of Diego for most of the fight it was ugly and Deigo was still scoring at times. Jake controlled the fight but that isn't the same as dominating IMO. Don't get me wrong he dominated at moments but I think Deigo made him think twice a couple times. Also like I mentioned before I think Jake experienced an adrenaline dump in round 2.

| Those were some pretty sweet elbow GnP at the end of round 2. That and the punch at the end of round 1 did the most damage. | |

| Ellenberger looked great. Diego got a nice spot with the Jake slipping off the top and giving up his back but that's all he could manage | |

- "We were trying to get that fire back in Diego. Get him to really push forward, get him to fake and feint, mess with his timing so we could get our entrances well and do what he did in the third round. [Sanchez] is really just getting started in his MMA career, Ellenberger is one of the top, top 170-pounders, so losing a close decision, it was two rounds to one, close decision like this, especially if we had two more rounds to work, I really don't think it hurts his career at all. He won a lot of fans with his intensity and he'll continue to do great things."
- Greg Jackson I guess it wasn't a route but "close" just doesn't feel like an accurate description.
