| It is unlikely GSP will fight Anderson Silva immediately after his fight with Jake Shields. I imagine he'll probably take at least one more WW fight if he moves up. The popular belief is GSP has cleaned out the division. This may or may not be true but the winner of this fight, especially if it's Condit, is a compelling enough contender. If Condit comes out on top, the he'd be 9-1 in the UFC/WEC. They could potentially play off the title unification bout in the LW division since Condit was the last WEC champion. It's a fight I'd like to see at least.
Chris Lytle is a very experienced and skilled veteran who always comes to fight. This would be his fifth straight win. GSP would probably beat the shit out of him but you know the fight would be an awesome show.
Unless Jake wins. But Naw.

If the winner got a shot over Fitch(assuming he beats BJ) then Dana should be arrested.

| It's Fitch's shot to lose to Penn.
Lytle's record should be better. He should have beat Marcus Davis, except Davis ignored his gentlemen's agreement to only stand and bang with Lytle, thus outpointing him with a couple of takedowns.
I'd love to see Condit get a shot. If Condit wins, then it would be sweet to put him in there. His loss to Kampmann really was too close to call so his record is really better.

| The Kampmann call was super close, and he'd be 9-1 in the UFC/WEC. Fitch is something like 14-1. Since Fitch had his shot already, I'd let Condit go first. | |

| I predit GSP will dispatch Shields and move up to 185.
The winner of Fitch/Penn and Condit/Lytle will fight for the vacant title.

Why not just let anyone and everyone who has even a slight possibility of shot go first? Why not just piss in Fitch's cereal every morning? Why not have Dana where a top hat and 10 gold rings and everytime Fitch opens his mouth he can bitch slap him and say "Shut up bitch!". Let's just do that.

| If Condit wins, he has a legit argument. He just KO'd the, kind of, former #1 contender. Does that trump Fitch UDing the previous former #1 contender? | |

Come on man Alves>Hardy for sure. If Paulo Thiago would have beat Fitch he probably would have got a title shot. Paulo Thiago was ranked higher when Fitch beat him then Hardy was when Condit beat him.

| I think Ninja is probably right. But I'm hoping GSP gets caught slipping by Jake and gets subbed. Then maybe we can have BJ vs GSP3. Cause that wouldn't happen unless GSP loses. | |

| Ninja is absolutely right. GSP would have no reason to not move up, especially if Condit wins his fight. That would leave the #1 contender debate down to: Penn/Fitch/Condit Penn (lost to GSP twice) Fitch (lost to GSP) Condit (Same Fight Camp) GSP moving up would be better for Jackson's Camp.. if he is going to move up why wouldn't he do it right when a teammate is in the discussion for a title shot (which if he did move up and Condit wins that would Solidify a Condit vs Penn/Fitch for the vacant title) .. Though I do believe Condit and GSP would fight each other unlike other teammates you hear about .. but there wouldnt be a point for them to fight in this case other than hurting your camp. - Wolfgangsta wrote:

Condit would be 10-0 in the UFC/WEC IMHO

He has already lost to GSP too.. Condit finishes his fights... and Paulo Thiago was a fluke ranked fighter. Now I am not saying that Fitch doesn't deserve a title shot.. but Condit would have a legit case too .. and KOs lead to title shots. if Fitch beats BJ he will get his title shot.. it just wont be against GSP

if Fitch beats BJ he will get his title shot.. it just wont be against GSP Just like with the Jake-Fitch argument I'm not argueing that Condit would not deserve his own shot. Just that Fitch should be in the front of the line. IMO Fitch owns 2 wins vs guys that were top 5 at the time of the fight in Alves and Paulo Thiago. So IMO the combo of those two wins do trump what Condit has done. Just my opinon. Also like I have said before I felt Fitch had earned his 2nd shot even before the Alves fight. So you add the Alves win and a win over BJ Penn to that and I can not express enough just how much he deserves that 2nd shot if that happens. Anyone else that has earned their own shot should have to stand in line IMO.

http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/news/273352/Condit-says-hed-fight-GSP/Speaking of GSP, the soft-spoken Condit surprised a few people by reiterating a point that went ignored earlier this week; that he would fight his teammate if the UFC approached him with a title opportunity. "We haven't discussed it very much," he said, "but I think it would be foolish of me to turn down an opportunity like that." To that, UFC president Dana White broke into applause.
