Undefeated Derek Brunson (9-0 MMA, 3-0 SF) has been forced out a "Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey" fight with fellow middleweight Ronald "Jacare" Souza (14-3 MMA, 4-1 SF).

Officials today announced that Brunson failed his medicals for the fight, though the undisclosed ailment is "not severe" in nature, according to Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker.

A replacement is being sought for next week's card.

What's Jake Rosholt up to? Would be a nice replacement.

Jake Rosholt would be the best option, also Jesse Taylor or Mario Miranda.

Come to think of it, I think I read about an injury of Jake's on his twitter not long ago. But not sure.
I was looking around and noticed that Kyle Noke was suppose to be fighting Hamman on the same night on UFC card but was scratched(Hamman injury). So maybe he is ready for the fight?

Ok here's the deal ... I've been fighting with contacts for 11 fights (9pro,2ams) never was an issue.Ohio won't pass my eye exam.

I don't understand? How do other fighters get away with it?

Didn't like the fight anyway but I want Jacare to stay active. Hopefully they get an ok replacement. I'll take a squash match over nothing

Might be a way for Marquardt to get back in the Zuffa good graces. Take this fight on short notice. He was suppose to be fighting on March 24 anyways.

So whats the issue? Brunson said he fights with lenses, they said lenses are legal. Where is the issue?

So even though he uses lenses in the fight, he can't fight because in case they fall out his eyes don't meet the min requirement? Is that the deal here?

Pretty much. If he was to lose one of them in the fight he would practically be considered legally blind in that eye. 20/200 is a trainwreck

Yeah I dunno what my vision is, I just know my contacts are like -2.5 or something like that. But that shit is gay. It's not like he can wear sports goggles either or anything. I guess he might have to consider lasik eye surgery?
