| "I can tell you that he'll need to keep his hands up, because a knockout might happen. He'll need to keep his hands way up, in high guard. I think I'll hit his legs a lot. Roy Nelson is very tough and can endure a lot of beating, he showed that against [Junior dos Santos], but there's always a weak spot. I'll try to look for that flaw during the fight. I think I will win with agility and mobility. I am well mentally, as well as physically, much faster and this will be determinant in this fight, due to the fact that he's slower, a fatty. It will be a very strategic fight. It's my return to the UFC, it will be very important to me. When I have the opportunity to KO or submit, I will do it. I don't like to win by points, it happens sometimes, but my prevision is this: knockout or submission. The main thing is the victory." Werdum
He's out his damn mind if he thinks he's gonna KO Roy

You have to put the belt on the line in order to call yourself champion, the best in the world. Right now, I am not the best in the world. I am injured. The winner of this fight on Saturday will be more than just the new number one contender, but he won't be the new champion either. The winner of this fight will have to beat me to become the true world champion, and I will have to beat the winner of this fight in order to call myself the best in the world again."

- "I am very nervous that Carlos Condit will win on Saturday night, and that I won't be able to fight Nick Diaz this summer. I feel bad, it is weird that I want (Condit) to lose, but I have never wanted to fight anyone as much as I want to fight Diaz. I don't truly hate him as a person. I don't know that he is a bad guy, but I hate what he brings to the sport with the disrespect and the unprofessional things he says and does. It is sort of a professional hatred. He has been nothing but disrespectful and arrogant towards me.
"I respect Carlos Condit, but I want Diaz to win. It will be a weird feeling, sitting at the Mandalay Bay wanting Nick Diaz to win. I want this fight with Diaz so badly, as badly as I wanted the title shot when I got down on my knees. I have never asked (UFC President) Dana White for anything, but I did ask to fight Nick Diaz. I was (crushed) when I had to pull out of this weekend's fight hurt, but I am determined to get back to the Octagon as soon as possible to fightthis guy. He needs to hold up his part and beat Carlos Condit on Saturday to make this fight happen.

| Going with Douche Maximus over condit. And because of stand-up and grappling techniques figuring in the equation, I will take E. Honda over Werdum. | |

Diaz has burned me too many times lately to pick against him against anyone not named GSP. This

| Anybody riding the Pierce train with me? I feel like the time has come and gone for the AKA welterweights. Too many good wrestlers with better hands than them taking the division over. I just can't get the image of Koscheck getting worked on the feet by Matt Hughes for 4 minutes out of my head. If Pierce stays busy he can win this fight | |

Winnable fight that's for sure. But I'm not brave enough to pick him at the moment. But I hate Kos, so I hope you are right.

- Diaz and Nelson. Nelson seems like a really tough fight for Werdum. He's got the grappling chops to be able to go to the ground with Werdum and still survive so long as he's on top. He's also got the chin to take anything Werdum can throw at him standing, and who knows if Werdum will be on top of his game after that terrible performance against Reem.
I see it the other way, Werdum is the better jj player, and will enjoy a big time height and reach(assumption) adv. And I see Werdum wanting to make up for the Reem performance(which was more weird then bad) as well as make a splash in his return to the UFC. Bad matchup for Roy.

Even if the guy if from the Greg Jackson camp and has a significant edge in the wrestling department? Even though he isn't a "wrestler" that is still one of his advantages this fight.

Bad matchup for Roy. Werdum has a 5 inch reach advantage. He should also have the speed advantage.

| "One time I was picking on my brother at school, and after school was done, I went to practice at Peninsula," Pierce said. "And my parents told Chael, 'Hey, Mike was picking on his brother. Why don't you go teach him a lesson?'
"So I get out there, and this is during freestyle and Greco season where we can throw people over the top. He's just beating the crap out of me, and he picks me up. We're walking across the mat. I have no idea where we're going, and he finds this big throw mat and tosses me on it. He's like, 'Yeah, your parents wanted me to do this to you.'"
