Cung Le vs. Scott Smith likely for Strikeforce: Evolution

That's the perfect matchup for Cung to work off his ring rust. He should be able to pick apart Smith standing. Apparently Cung has agreed, glad to see him on the comeback trail.

why the sudden change of heart? Has he finally realized he has no acting talent?

I think it's a low risk fight that will shut up some fans for awhile. I think that is what he is thinking. If it happens, Cung Le would pick Smith apart big time.

Frank is far more well rounded than Scott, and a more skilled striker.

Scott is a hard puncher. He has no head movement, defense and nowhere the technique that Cung posseses, or Frank for that matter. He is not a threat to take Cung down. I think it would be like the Diaz fight standing, only Cung won't give Smith a bunch of free shots.

That's my take. I don't think Smith is a hack or anything, but he would really have to land one to not get TKO'd or lose a UD.

If it happens, it should be entertaining...but Smith has a small chance of winning that fight, even with a rusty Le.

Should be a good fight with some1 getting KOed.

Cung announced on ShoMMA that he will indeed fight on this card, though he did not confirm that it would be Hands of Steel.

Yeah, I actually think that's a dangerous first fight back. Scott can KO you at any time, but Cung could easily pick him apart, but I'm not sure who he couldn't pick apart on the feet. I want to see him beat Robbie Lawler down the line.

Scott is solid, but Le should be able to pick him apart.

No way Le beats Lawler down the line though.

Smith hung with Lawler both times they fought. He is game, but soon as he tires he becomes flat footed and loses all head movement. Le will work angles and pick him apart. Body and leg shots first, opening up the head for the KO.

He'd do the same to Lawler too.

I heard the announce team say that Cung took off because of a movie but the filming of the movie was delayed??? So basically he has just been sitting on the shelf for no reason???

Which makes him vacating his title somewhat regretable. If he scores a nice KO over Smith, I wonder if he might push movies back a year or two and make a final run at glory.

For as long as Cung has been off, this is a very dangerous fight for him. He could come in and look impressive after the time off a la Tim Kennedy. But I have a feeling he will get a big surprise here. I'm calling for Smith to land one of those Hands Of Stone, and finish him with vicious GnP on the ground. Mostly a hopeful, bias call since I think Cung is a punk ass bitch.

I'm not a big fan of Smith, but I really can't stand Cunt Le either. I really hope that after his failed acting career, he gets HL reeled by whomever he fights... Even if it's Andy Wang! And hopefully, idiots like Rampage will take notice and realize where they need to be. Busting heads for our entertainment... Not making bad B movies making us cringe with every painfully uncomfortable line spoken... For our entertainment.

BTW - The real Hands Of Stone was Roberto Duran. Sam Stout's a tool with KOTC level ability. Hell, Michael Carbajal carried the moniker better than Stout... I miss watching that little freak fight...
